Did you know that the largest mammal migration on Earth is about to start?

Between October and December each year, about 10 million straw coloured fruit bats descend into a tiny patch of evergreen swamp forest inside Kasanka National Park, Northern Zambia. This natural phenomenon, unique only to Kasanka lends itself to some truly astonishing birdlife sightings set against a backdrop of incredible scenic surrounds and dramatic skies. Wow!

Victoria Falls Airport Arrivals 🇿🇼

Zimbabwe Cabinet announced that SI 216(5) Section 8, requires travellers showing COVID-19 symptoms, whether or not they have a covid-19-free certificate to be tested, a nominal fee of US$60 be levied on travellers tested at ports of entry.

Every international arrival needs to have a COVID19 Free Certificate.

We see you, October!
October is usually our hottest month of the year here in Livingstone and with temps already peaking 38/39 deg Celsius - we are preparing ourselves like these hippos with plenty of rehydration & dips in the swimming pool! 😂 The hot season also means red sunsets, swimming at the edge of Victoria Falls and spectacular wildlife sightings from giant swimming elephant herds down to the little beetles & frogs who sing all night long. It’s an incredible time to visit for a “real” African experience ☀️

Free Entrance for Zambians this weekend 🇿🇲

As Zambia commemorates this week, are offering green Zambia National Registration Card holders free entrance to Victoria Falls, Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and Livingstone Museum this weekend only.

Visit the Zambia Tourism Agency office (opposite Livingstone Museum) to collect your free coupon for entry to these sites on Saturday or Sunday!

World Tourism Week 🌍

Minister of Tourism and Arts Mr Ronald Chitotela launched Zambia’s Domestic Tourism Campaign this week as part of the World Tourism Week Celebrations including presentations of various Zambian tribes, culture and their relationship in Tourism and Rural Development.

CASTLE ALERT! 🏰
Did you know that we have self catering accommodation right here ideal for families on a self drive adventure! .falls.castle has three gorgeous apartments with a shared sparkling swimming pool for those hot Zambian days! ☀️

The Victoria Falls Castle was built by an Irish immigrant in the mid 1960’s. The Brooks Family took ownership in the late 1990’s and converted the Castle into luxury self-catering apartments. The apartments are serviced daily and each are equipped with WIFI, DSTV and air-conditioning. Each unit is self-contained and share a beautiful garden and pool. There is parking on-site and security on the premises. The property is within the wildlife corridor and often visited by elephant, hippo and the resident bushbuck!

South Africa ✈️ Zambia

Exciting news as South Africa's borders will open for tourists – inbound and outbound – on 1 October, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced last night.

But there are caveats, including that some countries may be red-listed based on their coronavirus statistics.
Those arriving need to show a recent negative test for Sars-CoV-2, and should install a government contact-notification app.

We will keep you posted on Cape Town and Johannesburg direct flight to Livingstone status for transit and South African visitors. Woohoo!

Hello Zim! 🇿🇼
After shutting down its borders and suspending flights in March, Zimbabwe announced it will restart international flights on Thursday 1 October 2020.

Travelers will need to be tested before arrival. All travelers will be required to have a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) COVID-19 clearance certificate issued by a recognized facility within 48 hours from the date of departure. See you soon, Zimbabwe!

HELLO EMIRATES ✈️
It’s lovely to see your pretty face again! Zambia is officially OPEN for business as flight from Dubai returns to Lusaka from tomorrow 4 September 2020 twice per week - Friday and Sunday.

The restart of services to Lusaka will offer Emirates customers in Zambia the opportunity to travel to Dubai, as well as an array of onward connections to Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas through the airline’s Dubai hub. The addition of Lusaka also broadens Emirates’ reach into Africa with nine destinations served. Flights to Lusaka will be operated with a Boeing 777-300ER.

Emirates flight EK 713 will depart from Dubai at 08:20 hours, arriving in Lusaka at 13:30 hours. The return flight, EK 714 departs Lusaka at 15:30hrs, arriving in Dubai at 00:25hrs the next day.

Travellers need to be in possession of a negative COVID test no more than 14 days old as per latest communication from Zambia Tourism Association. Contact us for a full copy of entry requirements. Hello, world!
