Albury Gold Cup Day is just around the corner… 🏇🏆

Our Councillors gave us the green light to apply to the NSW Government for a half-day public holiday for the Albury Gold Cup in 2024 and 2025 at the Council Meeting on Monday 23 October.

This decision comes after consultation targeting our tourism partners, business community, the education, banking and local transport sectors, and the wider community via an online Have your Say survey. We received almost 2,000 contributions from you, with 67.8% of the wider community and 56.8% of business owners supportive of the public holiday.

Just a heads up - our Kiewa Street office will be closed from 12pm on Friday 22 March, so please remember to plan ahead. 😀

We hope everyone is recovering well from a wonderful Christmas. Albury is such a wonderful place to visit and with our list of places to see you can fill in at least a week without any trouble at all. Lake Hume (15 mins) & the great Murray River (less than 10mins) offer fishing & water sports, we are a short drive to Woolshed Falls, Beachworth, Jindera, Tallangatta, Stanley (Cherry & Strawberry picking), not to mention the eateries, the Monument, walking & bike trails, museums, sporting arenas, travel the silo trail for the day and so much more.
