What an extraordinary weekend for Árón Taylor-Smith Racing, who was crowned the 2024 Independent Drivers' Champion in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone! It's been an incredible season and we're thrilled to see him achieve his dream of taking home the Independent Drivers' title.

Taylor-Smith shared: “I’m absolutely over the moon to have won the Independent Drivers’ title. To win a championship at this level is a dream come true, and I’m hugely grateful first and foremost to everybody – the team, my partner network, family and friends – who have given me a platform on which to go out and achieve this"

Next up is Brands Hatch, where Taylor-Smith has the sole aim of putting on a good show and ending the season on a high note to build up some momentum to take into next year!

Our team had the honour of joining Corporate Travel Management ANZ and Show Group at the Qantas Welcome Home Ceremony for the 2024 Australian Paralympic Team. Set in the renowned Hangar 96 at Sydney Airport, the event was a wonderful celebration of the remarkable achievements of our Paralympians. A big thank you to the Qantas team for the invitation; it was amazing to be part of such a memorable event!

The Bolton Stadium Hotel has joined the Radisson Individuals brand. The 125-room hotel is attached to Bolton Wanderers Football Club's home ground, the Toughsheet Community Stadium. Formerly known as Bolton Whites Hotel, 19 of the rooms have pitch-side views, and the hotel also features an all-day dining restaurant, bar and lounge, and events space for up to 4,000 delegates with a total of 57 meeting rooms.

The rooms and amenities have been recently refreshed for the launch of the new partnership.

Árón Taylor-Smith Racing continued his resurgent form in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, charging to another hat-trick of Independent victories – plus another outright podium - at last weekend

Árón comments: “To achieve what we have this weekend is, quite frankly, outrageous. I’m absolutely delighted to come away from Donington with a hat-trick of Independent wins, and another outright podium as well.

“It was great to showcase our one-lap pace yet again in qualifying and make the Quick Six shootout for the third event in a row. But equally pleasing was our race pace, and over those longer runs we were able to fight and mix it with the Manufacturer teams."

Having very narrowly missed out on a win at Silverstone last season, we can't wait to see Árón excel at the historic circuit on 21-22 September!

Árón Taylor-Smith Racing put in another top performance in the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill last weekend, qualifying on the front row before scoring another two Independent victories to extend his points lead! We once again wish Aron all the best for his next three races, which will take place at Donington Park, on the full Grand Prix circuit, over the weekend of 24-25 August.

Taylor Smith commented: “The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly qualifying on the front row, just three-hundredths of a second from pole position. Especially on a circuit where, last year, we struggled for one-lap pace, this is a great sign that all the work Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing are putting into our development programme is paying dividends.

“To come away with more points, especially in the Independents where we’re looking strong now, is hugely satisfying, and I’ve every confidence going to Donington GP. It’s where we really started to unlock something and click with the Astra last season, and we’re by no means done yet.”

A new Radisson RED hotel is set to open at Edgbaston Stadium, the home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Plans for the hotel include 146 rooms (85 with pitch-facing balconies) and a rooftop restaurant and bar with a 160 sqm outdoor terrace, It's hoped the redevelopment of the hotel will be finished by spring 2027, in time for the Ashes series, which will take place in England.

What a weekend for Árón Taylor-Smith Racing! In a hard-fought qualifying session, the Dubliner not only made it through to the coveted ‘Quick Six Shootout’ for the first time in 2024, but also put his Vauxhall Astra an impressive fourth on the grid, in the mix amongst the championship’s leading names for the opening race.

Taylor-Smith and his team fought hard on race day and picked up another two independent wins and a big haul of championship points which sets them up nicely for the second half of the 2024 season!

He shared: “My over-riding emotion at the moment is just pride, because we’ve put together another really strong weekend. To qualify on the second row, and then back that up with some good points and another two Independent wins is just fantastic."

Fantastic to see Árón Taylor-Smith Racing secure his first outright podium of the season in the Kwik Fit BTCC after another impressive showing at Oulton Park on the weekend.

The net result of three action-packed races at Oulton Park is an improved seventh overall for Taylor-Smith in the Drivers’ standings, and a healthy 13-point lead over Doble in the Independents Trophy.

Taylor-Smith shared: “I’m so delighted to end the first half of the season with this result. To be back on the podium is great, not just for me, but for the whole team at Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing."

Árón Taylor-Smith Racing’s trademark resilience paid dividends in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton on the weekend, helping him to recover from a high-speed crash in qualifying to score a hat-trick of Independent race wins.

The net result of all three races means Taylor-Smith extends his lead over Doble in the Independent standings to 10 points, with Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing similarly bridging the gap to their nearest rivals among the Independent Teams.

Taylor-Smith commented: “My overriding feeling leaving Thruxton is immense pride, both in the team and myself, for showing resilience and bouncing back from a huge crash in qualifying to achieve three top-ten finishes, and Independent wins, on Sunday.

“We’ve got a couple of weeks to reset and keep learning ahead of Oulton. It’s a track I love, and where I’ve won in the past, so on paper all the ingredients are there for another positive weekend, and for us to make another step forward.”

Despite a rain-soaked race day at Snetterton on the weekend, Árón Taylor-Smith Racing maintained the upper hand in the Independent standings after battling his way to a fifth victory in-class in the BTCC

Taylor-Smith commented: “Well, we can’t say that wasn’t an exciting race day! I’m really happy to pick up my fifth Independent win of the season, which has helped us maintain the Independent championship lead.

"We head to Thruxton Race Circuit in less than two weeks, which has always been a favourite circuit for both myself and the Vauxhall Astra, so fingers crossed we can continue this run of collecting silverware and put on another good showing.”

After a double victory and a strong points haul at the Donington Park season-opener, we were delighted to see Árón Taylor-Smith Racing extend his lead in the Independents Trophy and his race-winning potential once again as the BTCC resumed at Brands Hatch Indy on the weekend.

The net result of all three races moves Taylor-Smith ten points clear of team-mate Doble at the top of the Independent Trophy standings. Evans Halshaw Power Maxed Racing remain the team to beat in the Independent Teams’ standings, with a 22-point advantage over their nearest rival.

Taylor-Smith shared: “To get two more Independent wins, sure up that championship lead and be fighting at the front end has really validated for me that we’re on the right path, and I’ve no doubt we’ll live up to that potential in the near future.”
