We just had to share this poem written by one of our guests,
"Yelki by the Sea
Sunshine and crashing waves
The joyous sound of wrens at play
A very old and weathered pepper tree
Shaped by harsh southerly winds

This house of stone, so lovingly restored
Has a history sung by hundreds of ghosts
It faces a bay which had a bloody past
But is now admired and enjoyed by all who come

The gardens are filled with birdsong and life
And plants that can survive their sandy home
Despite the plethora of passers-by
There is a soothing serenity, nourishing the soul

Thick stone walls that have seen so many and so much
Floorboards speaking stories of the past
Carefully placed piles of aged whale bones
And a welcome descent into history and tranquillity"

It's that time again! Whales have been sighted down here at Victor Harbor - it's the perfect time to book a cosy winter stay and keep your eyes peeled for our whale visitors too 🐋🐋🐋

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 - 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝟏𝟒 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑

🐳 At 3.00pm a SRW was sighted heading for the passage between West Island/Kings Head, Victor Harbor.

🐳 At 2.30pm a SRW was sighted 1100 metres off the southern tip of The Bluff, Victor Harbor heading towards West Island.

🐳 At 1.50pm a Southern Right Whale (SRW) was sighted from The Bluff, between Rosetta Wharf and Wright Island, Victor Harbor.

Could this be our first resident cow mother in waiting? 🤞
