So...Tango! This is the page for our Eastern Suburbs classes. There is also a page for our North Sydney classes (SoTangoSydney).

Tango lessons are on Monday Nights in North Sydney and on Wednesday nights in Bondi. Private lessons are in Kingsford. SoTango's courses cover the same moves and concepts in North Sydney and Bondi each week so you can swap between venues if you can't always attend the same day / venue. SoTango's owner and principal instructor SoTango is Sophia de Lautour (Alvarez) - the current Salon Tango Champio

n of Australia. She has been teaching Argentine Tango for over sixteen years. Sophia and her co-teacher Pablito share over 34 years of tango experience!

By learning tango you'll experience a beautiful and unique way of connecting with other people. You'll get to connect with fellow students and Sydney's tango aficionados through SoTango's fun social events, tango parties ('milongas') and outings to other milongas around Sydney.

☆ So Soulful...
At SoTango you'll learn that tango is so much more than just a dance - it's a 'moving meditation' and a conversation of movement between you and another soul. You don't find its mystery from memorising choreography or mimicking other dancers: you find it within. Many of our new students are pleasantly surprised that tango is so much more than they expected; that it's such a spontaneous, soulful dance, and a wonderful way to practice being present.

It's a no brainer that you learn and progress best when you're relaxed and having fun - so we make sure the learning ambience is welcoming and light hearted. At SoTango you'll be taught technique and musicality which is based on precision, captures the essence of tango, and is flavoured with a good dose of fun

It's a great day to pass this on to anyone who might like to learn tango in Bondi!

Last Wednesday we launched our beautiful new venue in Bondi. Beginners at 7pm Intermediate + at 8pm. Great turn-out and bubbly vibe! It's still possible to join our Beginners course this Wednesday - Feb 15 (we accept entry in the first 2 weeks). You can join our Intermediate+ classes any time.

Tango Instruction - SoTango

☆Tonight☆ we launch our beautiful new Bondi Venue - 138 Bondi Rd (School of Arts)
☆Beginners: 7pm - 8pm
☆Intermediate +: 8pm - 9pm

Will have a big turn out for Beginners but small (currently 4 booked) for Intermediate + higher level class.

So.....it's indeed a very good time to come along to the Intermediate + class - before the numbers build up (as they now have in North Sydney). Come tonight and you'll receive plenty of 1:1 from me and Pablito!

Tango is not called the 'Walking Dance' for nothing!

Tango is known as 'The Walking Dance'.

“The Walk”….”La Caminata”….since I was a tango beginner, it has fascinated me. Back then, I just wanted to be good enough in tango to embrace a woman and walk beautifully with her. As the saying goes “if the walk is good, the woman dies in your arms, if the walk is bad…..the woman just dies.”
So here are 7 of my favorite “walking videos”. By no means am I saying that these are “the best”, these just happen to be ones that I look at when I am in the mood for some “good walkin'”.
