Jazz Systems by Don Wright

Jazz Systems is an improvisation method which teaches improvisation from "I don't know where to start" on to more advanced techniques.
(1)

Eb and Bb Versions/book with 2 CD set which has been produced by a professional musician with over 53 years experience. To be able to use these books & CD set, you would need:

1) To be able to play a minimum range of 2 octaves on your instrument.
2) Some knowledge of reading music. The contents of this course are not for beginners on their instruments, and give no instrumental instructions. How

ever, this course does give systematic tuition in basic jazz improvisation studies. This course would be useful as:

1) Self instruction for students age 12 to 14 and upwards.
2) Self instruction for non-jazz musicians, interested in playing jazz, and learning how to improvise.
3) Teacher's aid for tutoring jazz studies to students.
4) An excellent text book for beginner and intermediate jazz studies in secondary schools.

To all you Sax and Trumpet players, teachers and those who wish to learn to improvise - have a look at my book - "Jazz Systems". It is a great learning tool for starting to learn the art of improvisation.

It starts in a very easy way and gradually develops your skill in systematic stages. Many teachers are buying this book for themselves and for their students.

It's available in Bb and Eb books. There are 2 play along cds which relate directly to the text in each stage.

The main feature of this book is that it deals with the most important part of improvisation - that being, starting. Other books do not address this essential stage.
