শ্রীলঙ্কায় ঘুরতে যাওয়ার জন্য বাংলাদেশিদের ইটিএ (ইলেক্ট্রনিক ট্রাভেল অথরাইজেশন) ভিসা নিতে হবে। এই ডিজিটাল ছাড়পত্রের জন্য ঘরে বসেই অনলাইনে আবেদন করা যায়। এর জন্য শ্রীলঙ্কার অভিবাসনের ইটিএ সিস্টেম (https://eta.gov.lk/etaslvisa/etaNavServ?payType=1)-এ গিয়ে আবেদন সম্পন্ন করে সাবমিট করতে হয়। এই সিস্টেমেরই চেক স্ট্যাটাস (https://eta.gov.lk/etaslvisa/pages/checkStatus.jsp) থেকে জমা আবেদনের সবশেষ অবস্থা যাচাই করা যায়।

এ সময় শ্রীলঙ্কায় প্রবেশের চূড়ান্ত অনুমতি দেওয়ার আগে যাত্রীর আরও কিছু বিষয় যাচাই করা হয়। সেগুলো হলো:

যাত্রীর পাসপোর্টের মেয়াদ সেই দিন তথা শ্রীলঙ্কায় আগমনের তারিখ থেকে আরও ৬ মাস আছে কি না, ফিরতি টিকিট কাটা আছে কি না . শ্রীলঙ্কায় যতদিন থাকা হবে তার জন্য যাত্রীর কাছে পর্যাপ্ত তহবিল আছে কি না

প্রাথমিকভাবে ইটিএ ভিসা ৩০ দিনের জন্য ইস্যু করা হয়। এই ভিসার ফি ২০ মার্কিন ডলার বা ২ হাজার ১৯২ দশমিক ১০ টাকা (১ মার্কিন ডলার = ১০৯ দশমিক ৬১ বাংলাদেশি টাকা)। এই ফি মূলত বাংলাদেশে অবস্থান করে আবেদনের ক্ষেত্রে প্রযোজ্য। শ্রীলঙ্কায় প্রবেশের সময় বিমানবন্দর থেকেও তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে আবেদন করে ভিসা পাওয়া যায়। এ ক্ষেত্রে ফি ২৫ মার্কিন ডলার বা ২ হাজার ৭৪০ দশমিক ১৩ টাকা। অনূর্ধ্ব ১২ বছরের শিশুদের জন্য কোনো ফি রাখা হয় না।

শ্রীলঙ্কার বন্দরনায়েক আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে মার্কিন ডলারের সমমূল্যের শ্রীলঙ্কান রুপিতে ভিসা ফি জমা দেওয়া যেতে পারে।বাংলাদেশি পর্যটকদের জন্য শ্রীলঙ্কা যাওয়ার উপায় তুলনামূলকভাবে কম খরচে শ্রীলঙ্কা যাওয়ার জন্য ভারত হয়ে যাওয়া যেতে পারে। সেক্ষেত্রে অবশ্য প্রয়োজন হবে ভারতের ডাবল এন্ট্রি ভিসা। এই ভিসা ঢাকার শ্রীলঙ্কান দূতাবাস থেকে সংগ্রহ করতে হয়। অন্যদিকে ভিসা সংক্রান্ত জটিলতায় যেতে না চাইলে সবচেয়ে ভালো পথ ইটিএ ভিসা। এতে বেশি খরচ হলেও সরাসরি শ্রীলঙ্কার রাজধানী কলম্বোর প্লেন ধরা যায়, যেখানে সময় অনেক কম লাগে।

নুওয়ারা এলিয়া

মধ্য শ্রীলঙ্কার এই শহরটি 'চায়ের দেশ' এবং একই সঙ্গে 'মিনি ইংল্যান্ড' নামেও পরিচিত। কারণ এখানে আছে ভিক্টোরিয়া পার্ক, লেক গ্রেগরি, হরতন প্লেইন্স ন্যাশনাল পার্ক, পেড্রো টি ফ্যাক্টরি, হাকগালা বোটানিক্যাল গার্ডেন, সীথা আম্মান মন্দির। চোখ ধাঁধানো দৃশ্যের অবতারণা করে লাভারস লিপ ফল্স এবং রাম্বদা ফল্স। এখানেই শেষ নয়, হাইকিংয়ের সময় আরও দেখা যায় আবেরদিন ঝরনা এবং সেন্ট ক্লেইয়ারস ঝরনা।

ক্যান্ডি

শ্রীলঙ্কার এই শহরটি স্থানীয় বর্ণাঢ্য উৎসব 'এসালা পেরাহেরা'র জন্য সুপরিচিত। শহরটি গড়ে উঠেছে একটি বিশাল হৃদকে কেন্দ্র করে। আর এই হৃদকে ঘিরেই রয়েছে এখানকার জনপ্রিয় দর্শনীয় স্থানগুলো। এগুলোর মধ্যে সবচেয়ে বেশি আকর্ষণীয় বুদ্ধের দাঁতের জন্য বিখ্যাত ধর্মীয় স্থান টুথ রেলিক মন্দির। সেখান থেকে হাঁটা দূরত্বেই পাওয়া যাবে পেরাডেনিয়ার রয়্যাল বোটানিক্যাল গার্ডেন। হুলু নদীর জলপ্রপাতের নজরকাড়া দৃশ্য অমোঘ আকর্ষণে ভ্রমণপিপাসুদের কাছে টানে। হাইকারদের কাছে ক্যান্ডির সেরা জায়গাগুলো হলো নাকল্স মাউন্টেন রেঞ্জ, হানথানা মাউন্টেন রেঞ্জ এবং আম্বুলুয়াওয়া টাওয়ার।

সিগিরিয়া

প্রায় ২০০ কোটি বছর আগের এই প্রাচীন জায়গাটি শ্রীলঙ্কার ওয়ার্ল্ড হেরিটেজগুলোর একটি। এখানকার বর্গাকৃতির দূর্গ দেখতে অনেক দূর-দূরান্ত থেকে পর্যটকরা আসেন। তারা অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে যান সর্পিলাকার ফ্রেস্কো ও কিংবদন্তির আয়না দেওয়ালের।

মিন্নেরিয়া ন্যাশনাল পার্ক ঘুরে দেখার সময় পাহাড় থেকে নেমে আসা হাতির দলের সামনে পড়তে হয়। কাছাকাছি পর্যটন স্থানগুলোর মধ্যে আরও রয়েছে সিগিরিয়া জাদুঘর, দাম্বুলা গুহা মন্দির, কাউদুল্লা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক এবং শ্রীলঙ্কার প্রাচীন রাজধানী মিহিনতালে।

অনুরাধাপুর

ঐতিহাসিক মালভাথু ওয়া নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত এই শহরটি পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসে সবচেয়ে পুরাতন জনবসতির সাক্ষী হয়ে আছে। অনুরাধাপুরের সবচেয়ে বিস্ময়ের খোরাক যোগায় আট মহাস্থাপনা। নামের মতোই এটি ৮টি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থাপনা নিয়ে গঠিত। এগুলো হলো রুয়ানওয়েলিশ্ব, শ্রীমহাবোধি, থুপারামায়া, অভয়গিরি, মিরিসাভেটিস্তূপ, লোভমহাপয়, দাগব, লংকারাম এবং জেতবনরাম।

পুরাকীর্তিগুলোর মধ্যে জনপ্রিয়গুলো হলো ইশুরুমুনিয়া, রত্নপ্রাসাদ, রানীর প্রাসাদ ও মন্দির, দক্ষিণাস্তূপ, কিরিবাথ বিহার, মাগুল উয়ানা, কুট্টাম পকুনা, সেলাসেটিয়া, তোলুইলা মূর্তি, নাকবিহার, ও সমাধিমূর্তি। এখানকার আরও একটি বিশেষ আকর্ষণ আওকনা বুদ্ধ, যেটি মূলত ৪২ দশমিক ৭ ফুট উঁচু গ্রানাইট পাথরের একটি বুদ্ধ মূর্তি।

অ্যাডামস পিক

৭ হাজার ৩৫৯ ফুট উঁচু এই দুর্গম পর্বতটি বিশ্বজোড়া রোমাঞ্চপ্রেমীদের প্রিয় গন্তব্য। এর চূড়ায় পাথরের উপর ৫ ফুট ১১ ইঞ্চির একটি পায়ের ছাপ আছে, যা শ্রী পদের নামে পরিচিত।

বলা হয়, পৃথিবীর প্রথম মানুষ স্বর্গ থেকে প্রথম এখানেই পতিত হয়েছিলেন। ফলশ্রুতিতে সব ধর্মের অনুসারীদের কাছেই এটি একটি পবিত্র জায়গা। এই চূড়ায় উঠার রাস্তা মোট ৬টি। এগুলো হলো রত্নপুরা-পালবাদালা, হাটন-নাল্লাথান্নি, কুরুভিটা-এরাথনা, মুরেওয়াত্তে, মুকুওয়াত্তে এবং মালিম্বোদা। এ পর্যন্ত যারা অ্যাডামস পিক জয় করতে সক্ষম হয়েছেন তাদের কাছে নল্লাথান্নি এবং পালাবাদালা পথটা সবচেয়ে পছন্দের। তবে অধিকাংশ তীর্থযাত্রী হ্যাটন দিয়ে উঠে রত্নপুরা হয়ে নেমে আসেন।

থাকা-খাওয়া

ক্যান্ডি শহরে হ্রদের সংলগ্ন বুদ্ধ দাঁত মন্দিরের কাছে বেশ কিছু স্বল্প বাজেটের হোটেল আছে। এ ছাড়া ওয়ারিয়াপোলা শ্রী সুমঙ্গলা মাওয়াথা, হিলপঙ্কন্দুরা, ও হাসপাতাল লেন জায়গাগুলো পর্যটকদের কাছে জনপ্রিয়। সিগিরিয়া ঘুরতে গেলে সিগিরিয়া রক এবং পিদুরাঙ্গুলার কাছে অল্প খরচে কিছু ভালো মানের হোটেল পাওয়া যাবে। অনুরাধাপুরে থাকার ক্ষেত্রে শহরের কেন্দ্র অধিকাংশেরই পছন্দ। আর যাদের উদ্দেশ্য অ্যাডামস পিকে চড়ার তারা নল্লাথান্নিয়ায় থাকার জায়গা পেয়ে যাবেন।

শ্রীলঙ্কার সাধারণ রেস্তোরাঁগুলোতে যে খাবারটি বেশি চোখে পড়ে সেটি হলো ইডলি-দোসা। এটি মূলত চাল ও কালো ছোলা বাটা দিয়ে বানানো পিঠা। স্থানীয় খাবারের ভেতরে তুমুল জনপ্রিয় আরেকটি খাবার হচ্ছে কত্তু রুটি। রুটির সঙ্গে ডিম ভাজি আর কিছু শাকসবজি মিশিয়ে খাবারটি রান্না করা হয়। শ্রীলঙ্কান খাবারের একটি প্রধান বৈশিষ্ট হলো বেশির ভাগ খাবারে নারকেল তেলের আধিক্য।

যাওয়া-আসা মিলিয়ে পুরো এক সপ্তাহের একটি ট্রিপ শ্রীলঙ্কা ভ্রমণের জন্য উপযুক্ত হতে পারে। এক্ষেত্রে দুজনের জন্য হোটেল রুম ভাড়া পড়তে পারে গড়পড়তায় ৫ হাজার ১৫৮ থেকে ১৪ হাজার ৭৭১ শ্রীলঙ্কান রুপি। এটি প্রতি শ্রীলঙ্কান রুপি ০ দশমিক ৩৭ বাংলাদেশি টাকা হিসেবে ১ হাজার ৮৮৫ থেকে ৫ হাজার ৩৯৭ টাকার সমান।

স্থানীয় পরিবহনে প্রতিদিন খরচ হতে পারে জনপ্রতি ৫৪৪ থেকে ১ হাজার ৫১৫ শ্রীলঙ্কান রুপি, বা প্রায় ১৯৯ থেকে ৫৫৪ টাকা। আর খাবারের জন্য মাথাপিছু বাজেট রাখা যেতে পারে দিনপ্রতি ১ হাজার ৮৫০ থেকে ৪ হাজার ৮৭৯ শ্রীলঙ্কান রুপি, যা প্রায় ৬৭৬ থেকে ১ হাজার ৭৮৩ টাকার সমান।

সব মিলিয়ে এক সপ্তাহের ভ্রমণে দুজনের জন্য প্রায় ৭৭ হাজার ৩৬২ থেকে ২ লাখ ১৪ হাজার ৯৯ শ্রীলঙ্কান রুপি খরচ হতে পারে। এই খরচ প্রায় ২৮ হাজার ২৬৩ থেকে ৭৮ হাজার ২১৭ টাকার সমতূল্য।নগদ অর্থ সঙ্গে রাখার ক্ষেত্রে যতটা সম্ভব ছোট ছোট খুচরা নোট রাখা উচিত। কারণ স্থানীয় যানবাহনের ভাড়া দেওয়া এবং স্থানীয় দোকান থেকে খাবার কেনার সময় খুচরার দরকার হয়।ধর্মীয় স্থানগুলোতে ভ্রমণের সময়, মন্দির বা মসজিদে প্রবেশের আগে জুতা খুলে ফেলতে হবে। এমনকি সাইটটি ঐতিহাসিক ধ্বংসাবশেষ হলেও এই শিষ্টাচার অবলম্বন করা জরুরি। প্রবেশের আগে সবচেয়ে ভালো হয় অনুমতি চেয়ে নিলে। কারণ কিছু কিছু মন্দিরে অন্য ধর্মাবলম্বীদের প্রবেশ নিষেধ থাকে।
ছবি তোলার ক্ষেত্রে যথেষ্ট সাবধানতা অবলম্বন করতে হবে। স্থানীয় বা মন্দিরে কর্মরত যে কারো ছবি তোলার সময় অনুমতি নেওয়া আবশ্যক।
শ্রীলঙ্কার স্থানীয় যানবাহন বিশেষ করে টুক-টুক চালকরা পর্যটকদের থেকে অতিরিক্ত চার্জ নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করেন। তাই উবার বা পিকমির মত স্থানীয় রাইড শেয়ারিং অ্যাপ ব্যবহার করাটা ভালো।
শ্রীলঙ্কায় মশার উৎপাত প্রচণ্ড। তাই বিশেষ করে ভোর ও সন্ধ্যার সময় শরীরের উন্মুক্ত স্থানগুলো ঢেকে রাখতে হবে। এক্ষেত্রে উচ্চ মাত্রার ডিইইটি (ডাইথাইলটোলুয়ামাইড) ধারণকারী শক্তিশালী মশা নিরোধক ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। এক ট্রিপে শ্রীলঙ্কার দুইয়ের বেশি পর্যটন স্থান ঘুরতে হলে বাজেট এবং সময়ের মধ্যকার সামঞ্জস্য বিধান অপরিহার্য। নুওয়ারা এলিয়া, সিগিরিয়া, ক্যান্ডি, অনুরাধাপুর শ্রীলঙ্কার সর্বোচ্চ পর্যটন আকর্ষণগুলোকে প্রতিনিধিত্ব করে। তবে অ্যাডামস পিকের মত হাইকিংয়ের জায়গাগুলোতে হাতে একটু বেশি সময় নিয়ে যাওয়া উচিত। ভ্রমণ খরচের সঠিক ব্যবস্থাপনা সফরকে ঝামেলা বিহীন করে তুলতে পারে।
