When I travel around, I meet many people from different countries asking me, where I am from?
As soon as I say Bhutan, the most common response was “ ohhh The Happy Country, No wonder why you look so happy”.

I don’t know weather I look happy or not but maybe at that moment, I was overjoyed by the culture and beauty of those cities lol 😂.

But I feel really blessed when I hear such good comments for my country in a foreign land and I am truly grateful to all those people, who thinks so good about little Bhutan 🇧🇹.

Amid this pandemic, I pray to Almighty to spread the happiness of Bhutan to the whole world 🌍 and keep everyone merry.

May the world be filled with peace with no wars and pandemic & may the gods of all faiths shower happiness upon the lovely souls😊.

This charming city boasts the stunning Buddha statue, which is one of the largest in the world, and massive age-old architecture in the form of Dzongs (forts) & Temples.
Though there may be nothing more appealing than its timeless hiking trails.

It’s even known as the city of dreams for local citizens as it hosts all the vital offices including the king's office and embassies to consulates.

The arts and crafts centre churns out many artisans and craftsmen preserving the age-old traditional culture and you can catch a sight of those arts at the Paro international airport, which is fully adorned by those artisans.

The city’s rich history from great saints to local lords bloodshed for power and the massive architecture behind leaves many tales to know why Thimphu is different to other cities in the world.

The immersive nightlife experiences from modern to traditional dances and music and the unflinching commitment of locals to preserving culture and traditions can be noticed very easily.

“Bhutan is a country of born trekkers and mountaineers. Mountaineering and trekking in the country is part and parcel of the life of our people who have never looked at it as a sport in the past.
The Bhutan govt. banned mountaineering in 2003 due to culture and traditional values the locals associate with moumtains.

Gangkhar Puensum is also known as the ‘The White Peak of the Three Spiritual Brothers’ stands lofty at 7,500m (24,836ft) at the border between Bhutan and China, is the highest unclimbed mountain in the world and is in a pristine condition, not polluted by the mountainers, unlike Mount Everest.

Speaking of unconquered, it is not for the lack of trying though. Before 1994, there were expeditions to climb Gangkhar Puensum. Unfortunately, they were all unsuccessful. After the ban on mountaineering above 6,000m was introduced, there was a group of mountaineers who tried to climb the mountain from the Chinese side. When the Bhutanese found out about it, they requested for the Chinese government to cancel the mountaineering permit. The Chinese government obliged.

With clear visibility of the mountain ranges, comfortable sunny weather, sprawling paddy fields under the clear blue sky and a plethora of festivals, the autumn or fall season in Bhutan is undoubtedly one of the best time to enjoy the perfect Bhutanese essence. Trekking season lasts only up to November end and in order to avoid bone-chilling cold and heavy snowfall, most people get their permits months prior.

The mildly warm temperature complimented by drier weather makes this verdant Himalayan region gradually take a veil of golden and silvery-white colour with swaying paddy field and thin layers of snow respectively.
