In Bhutanese folklore and tradition, the takin is revered as a symbol of strength and resilience. Legends say that the animal was created by a divine madman known as Lam Drukpa Kuenley, blending the body of a goat and the head of a cow to form this unique creature.

16-July-2024: Burimari -Cengrabandha-Phuntsholing
• Morning: The Indian team will welcome guests from Chandranagar and drive to
Phuntsholing.
• Afternoon: Upon arrival, the Bhutanese guide and driver will greet guests with
traditional scarves at the designated hotel in Phuntsholing.
• Check-in, freshen up, and take a short drive to Kharbandi Monastery, offering a beautiful
location to witness the breathtaking sunset over the vast plains of India.
• Return to explore Phuntsholing town.
• Evening: Enjoy dinner in town or at the hotel, according to guests' preference. Finally,
rest well after a long day of travel.

17-July-2024: Phuntsholing to Thimphu
Distance: 164 kms (4:30 hrs drive)
Elevation: 234 mts / 1242 mts
• Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel and start your day early to maximize your time.
Embark on the beautiful uphill drive to Thimphu.
• Upon arrival, check in to the designated hotel and enjoy lunch either at the hotel or at
local restaurants.
• Visit Kuensel Phodrang – home to the gigantic statue of Buddha Dordenma. This
impressive bronze statue offers panoramic views of the city and symbolizes peace and
prosperity. Next, explore the Royal Takin Reserve to witness Bhutan's diverse wildlife,
including the national animal, the Takin.
• Return to your hotel for a delightful dinner and a well-deserved rest after a day of
exploration.

18-July-2024:: Thimphu – Punakha - Paro
Distance: 194 kms (6:30 hrs)

• Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel before embarking on your journey to Punakha, an
ancient capital of Bhutan.
• Stop at Dochula Pass (3100 meters), renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views and
the 108 Druk Wangyel Stupas. Take in the serene beauty of the Himalayan landscape and
the artistic splendor of the stupas.
• Upon reaching Lobesa, visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility.
• Enjoy a delicious lunch at the farmhouse.
• Next, visit Punakha Dzong, often described as the country's most beautiful fortress.

19-July-2024:: Hike to Tiger’s Nest
Elevation: 3120 mts
Walking Hours: 5– 6hrs (back & forth)
• Enjoy breakfast at your hotel to fuel up for the day's adventure.
• Head northwest out of Paro for a memorable hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang, also known
as the ‘Tiger’s Nest Monastery’. This legendary monastery clings to a sheer cliff face,
offering breathtaking views of the Paro Valley below.
• The hike takes about 5 to 6 hours round trip, depending on your pace and rest stops along
the way. Be prepared for a challenging yet rewarding trek through lush forests and steep
terrain.
• Take your time to soak in the stunning scenery and marvel at the architectural wonder of
the monastery as you approach it.
• Have a delicious lunch at the Tiger’s Nest cafeteria with the breathtaking view of the
Tiger’s Nest in the background.
• After completing the hike, drive back to Paro town, immerse yourself in the local culture
by visiting the vibrant craft market, where you can browse and purchase handmade
treasures crafted by Bhutanese artisans.
• After a day of exploration, return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and well-deserved

𝐃𝐎𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐋𝐀 Pass is a scenic mountain pass located on the road from Thimphu to Punakha in Bhutan. Situated at an altitude of around 3,100 meters above the sea level, it offers breathtaking views of the eastern Himalayas on clear days. The pass is renowned for its cluster of 108 chortens (stupas) known as Druk Wangyal Chortens.

Aside from its cultural significance, Dochula Pass is a popular stop for tourists due to its panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks, particularly majestic when the weather is favorable.
