Where is Bhutan ? 🏔

Bhutan is a nation in the eastern Himalayas of south Asia. China and India are their north, south, east and west neighbors, respectively.

Do I need a passport? Do I need a visa for Bhutan?

Yes, you will need a passport to travel to Bhutan and a validity of at least six months beyond the planned stay. The electronic visa is applied by the local tour operator and forwarded to you once approved. The same copy will have to be taken with you and presented to the immigration office of Paro International Airport.

When to travel to Bhutan ?

Spring (March, April and May) - The time of festivals that take place. Season for hikers at moderate altitude. The temperature is pleasant and mild even up to the Alpine regions.
Autumn (September, October, November) – The traditional high season in Bhutan is the one with the highest number of festivals. Hikers enjoy the clear view of the mountains during this time.

How can I enter Bhutan by plane ?

Location : Bumthang Central part of Bhutan
Scheduled festival dates : 15th Nov – 18th Nov 2024.
The 7th century Tibetan king Songsten Gampo is said to have built 108 temples in one day and Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang is believed to be one of them. The Jambay Lhakhang Drup is one of the most interesting events held there. During this festival, the chams (dances) include Terchham (Naked Dance), which was formerly initiated by Terton Dorje Lingpa, Mewang, Macham, Ging Tsholing, Dramtse Ngacham, Zhana Cham etc,. The dances are performed by the local villagers of Norgang, Changwa and Nangsiphel.
