By using plants, barks, leaves and minerals, the natural dyeing process involves techniques like scouring, cooking, drying etc. The soft colours from the natural dye contribute to the textiles’ distinct identity. Despite the labor-intensive methods, the appeal of natural dyeing lies in its connection to tradition, environment and creativity.

Every 11th of November, Gangtey comes alive as the valley celebrates the arrival of its revered winter residents with the Black-necked Crane Festival.
