SAD-LEE due to the impending Hurricane and the associated weather risks, we've made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend's market. The safety of our community and vendors is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding during these unpredictable times.

However, the show must go on, and we encourage you to channel that market excitement into shopping locally for your needs! 🛒 Support our wonderful vendors by checking out their online stores, local shops, or ordering from them directly. Let's keep the spirit of the market alive by supporting small businesses in our preparations. 💪

Stay safe and dry, everyone! We'll be back with even more market magic soon. ✨🌻

09/14/2023

Due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Lee, the Visitor Information Centre will be closed on Saturday, the comfort station will be open during regular hours of 8-8.

Please do not plan to travel on Saturday! Hunker down wherever you are staying on Friday night and prepare to be there until Sunday. Please continue to monitor weather reports and updates, you may do so with the following link:

https://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/ns-2_metric_e.html

It should be noted that neighbouring Digby County is under a hurricane watch and Annapolis County is under a tropical storm watch. I have never seen a storm respect man-made boundaries!

Please stay safe, do NOT go to the water to look at the waves, and under no circumstances should you be going into any body of salt water to swim after this afternoon. The rip currents you cannot see will pull you under in a heartbeat. If you are unfamiliar with hurricanes, they push vast amounts of water ahead of them, there will be storm surge flooding and that too can happen much faster than you ever thought possible! Please monitor tide times and be safe.

Lee is a very large storm, it is going to bring high winds and rain to an area stretching from Maine, through most of New Brunswick and all of Nova Scotia.

We know a hurricane was the last thing you thought about when you were planning your vacation in Nova Scotia. We hope you still think fondly of us despite our intersection with the hurricane's path.

Please be safe, don't travel on Saturday and use good sense. No photograph or view is worth dying for. This storm is dangerous, hunker down get some storm chips, monitor the weather and local news and ride this out safely.
