Giving beautiful things new life is what we love most. I love it when a happy customer sends photos of their Pleasant Street Living treasure in their home.
As she had hoped, this gorgeous frame fit her painting perfectly and the smaller one is ready for the next project.

Creative quality time with nature on the edge of the Tobeatic Wilderness Area

Throughout the month of September, we encourage locals and visitors in Bear River to change the normal routine, and visit our No Spray Bear River sites for recreational use, such as taking your dog out for a walk, foraging from these areas while they're safe, taking your kids out to learn about local biodiversity, or simply luxuriating in the beauty of the plant and animal life in our community.

Enjoy your time with nature in solidarity with Don't Spray Nova Scotia Forests

Victory is OURS, use it or we'll lose it!

As long as we occupy these lands, our community will be safe from the aerial spraying of glyphosate. In Nova Scotia we have a legal right of way on these lands to access the waterways nearby.

Governments and privately contracted aerial sprayers do not want you to be sprayed, and they will not spray on you as long as humans and encampments are visable. We are here and we will maintain occupancy.

Our aerial signage and nearby encampments are in place and our sites are always occupied by our community members.

Our signage and volunteers will have to be fully removed to ensure the site is fully vacant as a part of proper due diligence in occordance to the Pesticide Regulations, made under Section 84 of the Environment Act and for private sprayers to maintain Pesticide Applicator Certifications.

Our volunteers will upkeep the sites for spray-safe recreational usage until the spray permits expire. We're here to peacefully support our community's safety and wellbeing.

We see no immediate risk of spraying as there has not yet been a orange sticker placed on signage. Until the sticker is posted, we encourage the recreational use of these bountiful, beautiful, Bear River wilderness areas.

See our pinned posts on our profile for directions to both sites in Bear River.

Victory is OURS! Help us end the spray once and for all in Nova Scotia

We are so excited to see the new water installation happening in Bear River! Huge thanks to all the hard-working crews

While construction is happening for the next few weeks, our parking is limited

If you plan to dine in or walk through town, please park across the road from Oakdene Community Centre or behind the Bear River Legion, off of Wharf Street

If you are just passing through for a coffee to go, parking is available on the left side of our building, we ask that you allow room for others to get in and out of this driveway and stay on the side closest to Sissiboo Coffee Bar
