When in Winnipeg you must visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights as it is located right next to Union Station. The purpose of the museum is to "explore the subject of human rights with a special but not exclusive reference to Canada, in order to enhance the public's understanding of human rights, to promote respect for others and to encourage reflection and dialogue." It held its opening ceremonies on 19 September 2014. The exhibits are fascinating as is the unique architecture. Our intrepid leader, John Shaske, took this photo during a recent stop in Winnipeg (note the flatbed rail cars in the foreground).
