Good morning from Japan. Today at Fireside WB Japan - we are practicing speaking basic Japanese, bike touring and visiting a waterfalls, eating traditional Udon noodles and preparing for our hike up to the top of Mt Fuji. We are getting firsthand experiential learning on the impacts and solutions to mitigating climate change in Japan.

World -please meet my 85 year old best friend Mitsuko who shared for the first time in public her survival of the Tokyo bombings of March 1945. She was six years old and ran for her life after the US bombed Tokyo with bombs full of oil to maximize the impact of burning the city to the ground. 100,000 people were killed mostly by fire in a single day. Her story brought us to tears as it shared another perspective of World War 2. Mitsuko wishes for children and youth to learn how to teach peace to prevent war. Our world bound youth are learning to become peaceful warriors as we visit Japan. Fireside is extraordinarily happy to expand into Japan and embrace a Japanese perspective of outdoor experiential leadership. Thank you Mitsuko - I will always hug, laugh and cry with you. Fireside’s World Bound Japan - climate change education and outdoor leadership. I am over the moon that Miwa, Taiki. Margherita and I have such an amazing group of youth connecting, exploring, learning and adapting. Japan is amazing but it really about the people and their culture that is incredible. We are fortunate to be curious visitors who have been so welcomed.

An incredible book providing insight into what’s been happening to children and youth brains since 2010 which should be alarming to all of us. I have seen first hand the impacts of devices on children and youth loss of interest in adventure, connection, leadership, relationships and self awareness.
