Hi folks. As of Sept 6 I’m beginning downsizing process in my big room on the upper
Level at Great Village Antiqjes exchange
The room will undergo a major renovation over winter,
So eventually by year end I will be moved out of that room only to make way for the reno.
At this point I am Liquidating JUST all
China, glass, crystal porcelain crockery etc
At a huge discount
50 % off
This will Also include All China , glass etc in my glass displays on the lower
Level.
Just so there’s no misunderstand :
I WILL CONTINUE WITH THE DISPLAY CASES DOWNSTAIRS AND THE VINTAGE ROOM UPSTAIRS AS WELL AS THE BOOK NOOK UPSTAIRS

Here all weekend including holiday Monday 10-5
Just got some new fantasy signs in

It’s the Labor Day weekend and we are open Saturday, Sunday and Monday with lots of upcycled-restored-recycled vintage pieces including our special rustic birdhouses, benches, stools, plant stands/risers, sewing machine drawers, the ever popular garden obelisks, barn board framed bird prints& chalk boards, Christmas tree doors , all of which we will take special orders for.
Plus an array of chairs, small tables, rustic sideboards/ kitchen islands.
AND if you want to try your hand at doing your own restorations, we can provide some pieces for that at very reasonable prices
Next week we have a great load of project furniture coming. Stay tuned for that
But, meanwhile here are some pics of items on hand

My newest addition
This little trinket box has been loving crafted by someone with a lot of talent.
Hand cut dovetails usually date a piece to at least the latter part of the 19th Century.

These benches are beauties
And backdrop is too
Fresh from the Bird house man of Onslow . 3 of these are 32” long & 1 is 24”
The 2 dark ones are made from the pew seat remnants of the former St James United church of Great Village
You can see them in Great Village tomorrow, Thursday

WELCOME PETS
If you plan a day trip of course you want to take
your puppy with you . Unfortunately you can’t take them everywhere.
Bring your puppies to the GREAT VILLAGE ANTIQUE SHOPS.
They are always welcome and may even get a treat
Here’s Bruno . He’s been coming to my shop

Puppy . He’s always happy to see me and we do a lot of chatting
Of course my Grand puppy Rosie comes to visit too

Saturday will be a busy day here in the Village
Two big events
Great Village & District Volunteer Fire Brigade is holding their annual Community Day
& Lowland Gardens is having their annual
season clear out “Cart Sale on all Annuals”
Make a day of it and visit the shops while you are here

Our team is working hard to get ready for you this Saturday, August 17th, from 10 AM to 2 PM for our community day. Parking will be limited at our hall, so the Royal Canadian Legion has graciously allowed us to use their parking lot at 8 Great Village Lornevale Rd. Please utilize this parking, as we don't want to block in our trucks or interfere with the business around us.

SOLD AS THEY WERE BEING UNLOADED THIS AM

Here I am at home just loading a drop off of bass River Chairs.
These 6 butterfly pressbacks are just perfect with a great undisturbed petina
Also bearing the DC CO BR NS (Dominion chair company bass River NS ) incised stamp on the seat back edge, indicating turn of the 20th century
These chairs were the chair companies best offering for dining chairs for several decades
There’s also an armchair rocker in the lot with the same pattern

A busy few hours at great village antiques exchange today
Parking lots were full 20+ customers lined up waiting to pay
I guess the rainy weather brought them in , but then again, the shops in Great Village have a great variety of vintage, collectables and antiques to choose from , so what else would you expect .
