Apple facts! 🍎 Did you know that some of the most popular varieties of apples we’ve come to know and love were discovered or bred in the Okanagan Valley? The sweet, crisp Ambrosia for example, which accounts for a third of the apples grown in BC.

Over 160 years ago, the first apple tree was planted in Kelowna. The Okanagan Valley is ideal for growing the seeded fruit due to steep slopes, long sunny days and proximity to a lake. Kelowna is home to over 12 varieties of apples, including McIntosh, Spartan, Granny Smith, Gala and Honeycrisp.

📍 Goat’s Peak - Spectacular lake and valley views surrounded by rock bluffs. You can expect a challenging hike to get to the peak (but we promise it’s worth it).

Goat’s Peak is located in West Kelowna. The regional park rises steeply from the shores of Okanagan Lake. Hike through protected grasslands and open woodlands, and the waterfront sections are conservation areas for shore spawning salmon (From Regional District of Central Okanagan).
