Tuesday Post ( second attempt )...ITALY...Pompeii has always been a favourite with the groups I have lead to Italy...these castings, done of holes in the tufa while excavating, reveal objects and figures buried in the hell as it happened...

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...INDONESIA...this was a happy portrait moment...we had stopped to admire a view while driving in Sumatra, and this man was slowly walking towards us...I asked if I might take his photograph, and after a short deliberation, he agreed...what a handsome face, full of character.

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...PERU...this is sand boarding at the Huacachina Oasis, the only natural oasis in all the Americas...it's definitely an acquired skill !

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...TIBET...this is the shore of Lake NamSto, the holy lake 4 hours drive from Lhasa, the capital...every Year of the Sheep thousands of Pilgrims will walk around the lake clockwise for up to 30 days to receive blessings from the gods of Tibetan Buddism...it is a salt water lake and crystal clear with an amazing colour...I love how the clouds add a sense of drama to the scene.

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...ITALY...well, at Easter it's a good bet to post a photo of St. Peter's and The Vatican...this staircase has always intrigued me...a great place for anyone to get an artsy shot, especially with wide angle capability.

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...JAPAN...sunrise on my first day in Japan...I chose to stay out at Narita Airport to get my bearings and bookings...that very morning there was a tremor which sent me scurrying with toothbrush still in hand to the nearest door arch...reception said that they get them all the time !

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...JAPAN...I forwarded a post on FB yesterday which showed a b&w photo of Albarracin, Spain taken in 1955 by Jean Dieuzaide...it reminded me of some photos I took at the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, though nowhere near as dramatic...

Tuesday Post...(twice monthly)... JAPAN...I recently saw a post on FB showing the herds of deer which wander freely at temple sites in the town of Nara...it inspired a memory of being there...they are quite aggressive !

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...INDIA...in many countries the streets come alive at night...away from the heat of the day families emerge to socialize, and children have an instant playground...a whole different model of commerce abounds with open storefront shops, a myriad of restaurants and bunches of street vendors selling a dazzling array of things from hot food to these religious items...it is the neighbourhood !

Tuesday Post...(twice monthly)...SOUTH AFRICA...Wine Tour !!!...when in Capetown you can sign up for a day wine tour of 6 local wineries...the company driver picks you up in a mini bus, you meet your other wine drinking buddies, and off you go!...my fellow tour takers were two sisters and a boyfriend from New Zealand...included was a lovely lunch and waaay more wine than we needed and we got to see the real beauty of the area...the humourous driver/guide is in the middle with us here...

Tuesday Post...NEW YORK CITY...a view from the Pond in Central Park back at Lower Manhattan...the summer that I spent there at The School of Visual Arts allowed me to do so much around Manhattan and in the Boroughs... it was an opportunity to get connected with the art scene and to actually exhibit my work in NYC...what a rich experience for which I am truly thankful !

Tuesday Post...( twice monthly )...FRANCE...I was on holiday in April when the tragedy at Notre Dame de Paris happened...I did see the news on friends' phones and was sick to see it, having been there both myself and with tour groups that I have lead...this is a shot of the gargoyles on the facade from the parapet between the two spires...I do not agree with Macron that a modern interpretation is needed for the rebuild...I do like the pyramid at the Louvre, but no, not here.
