The Windmill - Situated in the beautiful Rosebud River Valley lies a new treasure: This historic Canmore landmark is freshly developed after a four year labour of love. The windmill boasts fantastic rural views with the cliffs of Rosebud to the north, cattle on the Rosebud hill to the east and the rooftops of our quiet hamlet to the west. Step out your bedroom door onto the 360° wrap around upper deck for your morning coffee and witness what quiet is.

If stunning views and rural tranquility aren’t your thing, head back inside. There’s a pull down ladder in your bedroom leading to a secret room on the third floor. Cedar plank floors, plastered walls, exposed wood beams, and a comfy wingback chair truly add to the coziness of the blue library; perfect for losing yourself in thought and imagination.

Heading back down to the bedroom on the second floor you’ll find a good night’s rest. The bed is a very comfortable memory foam mattress and north/south windows offer a pleasant cross breeze. The octagonal shaped bedroom really does give off a safe and intimate energy.

We’ll have a cup of whatever she’s having.

We love her words, we love her wisdom, we love how she keeps it real.

This is and this is her travel tale:

On a flight from England to Iceland a woman sitting next to me asked if I was attending university, when I replied no she gave me a smile and responded “ah you’re attending the global university”. This resonated deeply with me; for the rest of my days I will be attending the global university.

The feeling of the sun and humidity touching your face and filling your lungs as you step out of the plane on the tarmac in an entirely new atmosphere, watching the sun rise from the mountain top you’ve just climbed over night in the jungle, enjoying the new rich cultures and experiencing a small glimpse of what the life of a local is like; truly is an indescribable feeling. While home for me will always be in Alberta with the Rocky Mountains close by my soul is forever indebted to wandering the globe. It has been a joke that I am the friend that is most likely to be off “finding themselves”, and it rings true. All of the adventures I have taken, all of the earth I have touched has allowed me to find a part of myself I had no idea I was missing. In the most recent months I have spent my time adventuring on Canadian soil; soon enough I will set out to find yet another part of me that only travelling can help me find. Attending the global university always has and always will help me soothe my wanderlust soul. Colbs 🗺 🤍

We have someone we’d like to introduce you to, a true Nomaddict.

We resonate with his vibe, his style and his love for traveling (or dogs).

This is and this is his travel tale:

Hey I’m Jordan! I am a 27 year old shift worker that fell in love with travelling when I was 23, I made the decision to try the backpacking lifestyle on a whim after having a few drinks with some well travelled friends. So that night, knowing sober that travelling solo to a 3rd world country would be very intimidating I booked my flights to Nicaragua with out purchasing flight insurance, I was going no matter what.

That was the best decision I’ve made in my life to this day. Travelling for me soon became a way to escape the materialistic ways of our everyday life. As cliche as it sounds visiting these less fortunate countries truly humbles you when you see how happy and genuine the local people are with how little they have. It makes you reflect upon yourself and what’s really important at home. I went from wanting a house and the newest lifted truck to wanting nothing more than being debt free, this all happened within the first few days of my first trip.

Every trip I have returned from leaves me with a boost of serotonin like no other. Personally the pandemic has been hard on me, I haven’t been anywhere in almost 2 years now but the beautiful thing is that I know I can return to hostels and airports one day and just that thought alone turns my day around.
