🧟‍♂️ FIRST-EVER UVIC OUTDOORS ZOMBIE HUNT - SUCCESS! 🎃

What a night! 10 brave teams conquered our first Zombie Scavenger Hunt, solving riddles and dodging the undead across campus and the city. Your costumes and team spirit made this spooky adventure absolutely unforgettable!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and our incredible volunteer zombies - you all crushed it! This was just the beginning... stay tuned for more epic adventures with UVic Outdoors Club! 🧟‍♀️

🧟‍♂️🎃 UVic Outdoors Club: Zombie Scavenger Hunt 🎃🧟‍♂️
The undead are coming to UVic! Gear up for the spookiest scavenger hunt of the year as we navigate through haunted locations, solve mysterious riddles, and try to survive the zombie apocalypse!

🎃 When: Nov 1st, 6:15PM to 9PM
📝 Signup opens: Oct 29th, 6PM
⚡ Only 8 teams of 5 survivors each!

🚗 Important: Having a car per team is highly recommended for this mission! Don't have a full team or a car? No worries - you can sign up solo and we'll match you with other survivors (and drivers)!
What you'll need:

Beautiful day around Sooke exploring nature and some abandoned sites!

We visited a WW2 bunker, resort, and an old warehouse. After, we ended the day with some wood fired pizza and a bon fire on the beach (plus bonus activity🐟🐟🐻: watching a bear fish near Sooke potholes!)

🏔 Epic Mount Doug Summit Feast | Oct 20, 2024
History was made at Mount Doug this weekend! We might just be the first crew to haul a full turkey dinner to the summit - and what a feast it was! 🦃

Who knew "buns and plates" would become the inside joke of the day? 😂
The evening peaked with an impromptu dance battle at sunset, proving UVic Outdoors Club knows how to throw a proper mountain-top party! 💃🕺
Shoutout to our chefs and everyone who helped haul the feast up the mountain, and everyone who showed up! Creating memories one summit at a time! 🏔

Sunset Hike & Pumpkin Madness 🎃🌅

We’ll hike up Tolmie to watch an epic sunset, then head back down to the house for some pumpkin carving chaos. BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) and maybe a knife, we’ll provide some but the more supplies the better.

Whether your pumpkin turns out like a masterpiece or a mess, it’s all about the laughs, good company, and fall vibes! 🍂

Kinsol Trestle🛤️
This Saturday the Uvic Outdoors Club will be checking out the Kinsol Trestle! This is one of the tallest freestanding timber rail trestle structures in the world (186 feet tall)😮
🗓 Saturday, Oct. 19@ 10am

We’ll be meeting at Carsa at 10am and driving out towards Shawnigan Lake. It’ll be an all day affair hiking roughly 13km round trip through forest and on the trestle so make sure you prepare accordingly.

Join the Uvic Outdoors Club this Sunday for a sunset hike that's guaranteed to be either breathtaking or breath-taking (depending on your fitness level)! 🌅💨

📍 Mt. Doug Summit
Bring:

- A friend, or desire to meet new friends!
- Rain gear (because Mother Nature loves a good practical joke)
- A dish

We'll be chilling in our Gazebo at the top, swapping stories of "that one time I thought I was outdoorsy." Don't worry, we've got hotdogs and veggie dogs for all you summit survivors!
Remember: Be there or be square. And let's face it, squares don't do well on hills. 🔲🏔

🚨Come join us for our very first ODC friendsgiving🚨

Itinerary: The ODC will be hosting a potluck social gathering to celebrate a successful start to the year, Cherish good friends, new and old, and reminisce about the good times had so far & dream up new trip ideas

Location: We will be hosting at a house that is a 20-minute walk from campus.

What’s provided: We will provide a large organic turkey and vegetarian alternative for the main dish.

What’s needed: Your favorite dish to contribute to the potluck.

Capacity: 40 participants.

Signup: Live at 6 pm, Monday, October 14th, on our Instagram story.
