Another Fall Colour Tour comes to an end. 3 wonderful young women, each of them a single traveler. One from Germany, one from Chile and one from Canada. All united by the love of dogs and the outdoors.
Day 1. arrival day, getting to explore our little paradise and of course there are dogs coming along.
Night 1. incredible display of northern lights
Day 2. Morning training run with the dogs followed by a walk to the beach, afternoon at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve.
Night 2. More northern lights for our very lucky guests
Day 3. Morning canoe on the Takhini River, afternoon to catch up on sleep or more exploring with the dogs.
Night 3. Another fire by the river, hoping to get a 3 our of 3.

In the words of our guests this morning "we saw the real deal"
Incredible display lats night at around 11:30pm.
I alway tell our visitors if you do not want to miss anything you have to sit out as soon as it is dark. Our current guest took this to heart and went to our "beach" at 9:30pm to start a little fire and hope that the aurora would show. And as it so often goes the northern lights were there. You could see them but they were faint to the eye and showed up much better in the camera. And then suddenly the sky exploded for about 2min and they could see the colors with the naked eye. I left the original sound as I love the excitement.
I am so happy they all go to see if and share this experience.

What an amazing visit we had at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve yesterday. I hold our guest Diane resposible for the perfect weather and the incredible sightings we had. With her positive and exuberant attitude she made it happen. 🥰

The season where I spend hours outside in pyjama bottoms, winter parka and slippers is officially open for me 😍
Finally saw my first northern lights of the season. Not that they haven't been around, I just was not fortunate enough to have a dog needing to go out in the middle of the night when the aurora was there. 🤣

Perfect morning for a training run with the dogs. Sunny but cool at zero degrees by 9am.
Followed by a walk to the river with some puppies and oldies. Could not ask for a better start to the day.

Little One had an amazing trip with some new and old friends in Tombstone Territorial Park on the traditional territory of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in
A base camp at the territorial campground , some day hikes, great food, good company and fall colors at their prime. We could have not asked for more. It was an all around perfect trip.

What an absolutely amazing week we had, and get to do it all over again next week. This time it was a customize trip but I think I have to make this a regular one. 🥰
Day trip to Kluane, incl hiking ST. Elias Trail. Full day canoeing, Half day Horseback riding and a 1/2 day hike to Spirit Canyon.

After the crazy heat last week we had some needed rain and cloudy days. While it was still raining in Whitehorse most of the day yesterday we decided to change our itinerary and switch days. We enjoyed a beautiful day in Kluane National Park, Absolutely stunning once again. And once the clouds lifted we could see the first snow on the mountain tops.

Some say it is too early, but we are ready for fall.
Goodbye midnight-sun, welcome to lady aurora and spectacular fall colors. This is just the beginning of short but beautiful season. Peak fall season is typically from the end of August until middle of September.

With this incredible heat we are having right now it is hard to imagine that fall is on its way. But there are signs, and we are very much looking forward to cooler days. Until then we try to spend as much time in the water as we can, or in Homer's case along the shore 🥰

Yesterday was another busy day guiding for Little One. We had a fun group out on a day trip from Kusawa Lake to Mendenhall Landing. In the video below Jeff and Little demonstrate how to run the "Jaws Of Death". The videos in the comments are from our adventurous guests. Some experienced, some not. Everybody gave it a try and everybody stayed upright.
