We've got some BIG CHANGES.... and some MINI ones as well!

We're excited to announce that Trench has had an upgrade! We've added hundreds of sensors and more than doubled the lasers! Not only that, we've added buttons and a whole extra door to add even more ways to play!

Since our new room isn't looking very... Trenchey... we've changed the name to Laser. To avoid confusion, we've changed our smaller Laser room into Mini Laser. So next time you're in, make sure you remember which Laser is which!

We can't wait for you to try some of the new and exciting games in our new Laser room – let us know in the comments which one is your favourite!

Winnipeg! We've got BIG changes coming to Trench!

We're always working to bring our rooms to the next level. Recently, we replaced the floor tiles in Grid to add more sensitivity and accuracy to your gameplay. And now we're upgrading Trench to add more lasers, more targets, and of course, more games.

As of this Sunday, Trench will be temporarily closed for upgrades. But don't worry – almost all of the same games you know and love will still be here when it reopens soon.

Effective March 1st, in line with public health orders, we will cease to require proof of immunization for persons entering our facility.

As of March 15th, pending no changes to public health orders, masks will be optional but still recommend to be worn in common areas.

Please ensure to still stay home if you are not feeling well, and practise social distancing while in our facility.

Effective February 15th, we will be operating at our normal capacity. While team sizes will remain 3-5 players, this allows larger groups to book and play at the same time!

We are also returning to our normal booking system of a minimum of 3 paid admissions per booking. Teams of 2 are welcome, but must pay for a third admission. With this change, we are reintroducing Two Player Tuesdays, which will allow teams of 2 to play without paying for a third admission!

Customers will notice these changes to our booking system effective immediately.

BIG THINGS are happening at Activate, and we have some exciting and sad news to share with you!

Since we opened three years ago, we’ve been striving to create the best experience possible. Whether it’s safety, accessibility, or unforgettable gameplay, we want every aspect of Activate to be the best it can be.

Last year, we removed one of our rooms because it didn’t meet our standard when it came to quality and enjoyability. And now, sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to another one of our rooms: Super Grid.

In the years since building Super Grid, we’ve received tons of feedback and seen tens of thousands of feet stomp millions of blue tiles. In fact, all those feet have led to issues in the room, with tiles coming loose, getting stuck, or breaking down. So we faced the challenge head on and developed new technology, which we implemented in Mega Grid. And now we’re seeing a smoother, more enjoyable player experience, which is exactly what we hoped for.

What will happen to Super Grid? Instead of updating all those tiles, we’ve decided to migrate our two existing Super Grid games (Jigsaw and Super Grid) to Mega Grid. You’ll still get to find the perfect piece and dodge red tiles! But you’ll get to do so on even more responsive tiles.

Then, once we’ve removed the room, we want to make the most of the space by building newer, even more exciting rooms! We can’t share any details yet, but believe us when we say it will be truly NEXT LEVEL. We’ve got some huge plans ahead, and we’re so excited to share them with you when the time comes.

As we work to improve our facilities, we’ll have some big upgrades for other rooms like Trench and Laser, and some smaller changes to rooms like Hoops and Arena. We don’t have details right now, but when those details are finalized, we will share them with you right away. Expect an ever-evolving experience that helps you get even more immersed in every game.

So for now, make the most of Super Grid while it’s still here! Our plan is to remove the room in early January, meaning you’ll have over a month to get your final leaps in. The closing time could change slightly, but this will be the earliest plan.

Our goal is to provide the best possible experience to you, the player. Even though that can mean big changes, we promise those changes will be worth it for even more, and even better, games. Thank you for playing at Activate, and we can’t wait to make your visits even better!

Who: Groups of 3-5 players. All are always welcome. We are happy to make accommodations for anyone who needs accessibility adjustments.

What: Mini photo/video session (around 60 minutes). You will receive a free pass to Activate for each person who participates.

Make the most of the middle of your week with an Activate workout! These games are designed to get you moving, sweating, and burning some serious calories. Here’s what we recommend for this week’s workout

WARM-UP

Hoops: Start your warm-up with a game like Barrage in Hoops. In Barrage, you’ll be sinking as many baskets as you can, a great way to loosen up your body and get you focused. We’ll get those arms working so you’re ready for your next room.

Laser: Think of Laser as your full-body warm-up. A game like Laser Maze is designed to have you crouching, crawling, and rolling at a steady pace. Nothing crazy yet – just some laser-dodging before we ramp up the cardio.

CARDIO

Super Grid: Now your workout has started! Try Super Grid in Super Grid for some serious cardio. Push yourself to the highest level you can handle to really get you running, leaping, and diving for those final tiles. We guarantee you’ll start to feel the heat on this one!

Hide: Now it’s time for a new game, Relay! This game really makes you move – think of this as a quick-sprint round. You’ll need to run between buttons of your colour as quickly as possible. Make sure your laces are tied tight!

COOLDOWN

Climb: Now that you’ve done some sprints, let’s cool down your legs and arms. Try a few rounds of our new game Speed and shimmy along the wall at a steady pace. This will keep your body in motion, but will be easier than the last few rooms.

Pipes: Finally, finish off your workout with some Pipes. We recommend the classic Piperooni to stretch your back as you bend down to pick up the ball and find the lit-up pipe. Don’t push yourself too hard – an easy level will be the best for your cool down.

And of course, don’t forget to stretch before and after your workout!

Have you tried Simon Says, our game in Hoops? You'll need to memorize a sequence of colours, then shoot the corresponding hoops before time runs out.
