Crankie Reel - Limavady Hen Shed
Would you like to make a Crankie?๐ผ๐ถ
Arts Care recently undertook a โCrankie Theatreโ Project with the Limavady Hen Shed. Funded by Public Health Agency and facilitated by our visual Artist Helen Bradbury, Storyteller Janice Witherspoon and musician John Leighton from Live Music Now.
We are delighted with the result and as can be seen from the reel it is a fantastic way of engaging participants in a range of art forms.โค๏ธ

It's Children in Need time๐ป๐
Thanks to the support of the public, Children in Need are able to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK. Throughout the year, the funding we get from Children in Need, helps us deliver important projects and initiatives to the people that matter, across Northern Ireland.
.............. for example, our Clown Doctors initiative ๐คก๐
๐๐ฟ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐น๐ผ๐๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐
The Arts Care Clown Doctors bring joy to children in hospital on a weekly basis. They currently attend Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, Ulster Hospital and Forest Lodge on a weekly basis.
๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ผ
The Clown Doctors were unable to gain access to the wards throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. They created some fantastic videos for children and young people to enjoy during their time in hospital. ๐๐
This video example stars Dr. Fizz, Dr. Muddle, Dr. Dapper, Dr. Twinkle and Dr. Clooless.
Thanks for all your help and support, Children in Need. ๐

IT IS WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY ๐
How are you feeling today?
Today is an important day to remind everyone that there is help and support. Remember, you are not alone. Don't suffer in silence!
Here at Arts Care, we provide support for Mental Health through art workshops, anything from Dance, Poetry, Music, Creative Writing and Visual Arts.
Mental Health is just as important as physical health, it can take many forms and affect anyone at any age. Our artists engage with service users and staff in Health Care settings as well as corporate, charity and other work environments to improve mental health and well-being.
Our workshops aim to evoke imagination, creativity and self-expression while also helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
Take time today to focus on how you are feeling. Check in with family and friends too โค๏ธ

On a summer trip to do some musical interaction with Service Users and staff in Orchardville TRC last week, Brendan Popplestone was reminded of Service User Norman's skill at drumming. Seeing an oppportunity to respond to an opportunity to develop a project he arranged to make a short video with Norman of one of his own song requests, Rivers of Babylon. ๐ฅ
Within a few days this spontaneous video was shot and edited.๐น
Brendan also knew that Valerie Hume, Day Care worker at Orchardville was quite handy at the guitar, Valerie having attended Brendan's Trust staff guitar lessons for a term or two. So a collaboration occurred and this arrangement performed in the centre with additional camera work by Gary Wilson, Senior Day Care worker.
Norman (and all involved) thoroughly enjoyed the process and his family are looking forward to seeing the video. It's a great example of how Arts Care works to create magic through creative processes and years of positive relationships between artists, service users and staff. Continuity!
