Today marks the last day of Disability Pride Month, but it doesn't mean the end of disability pride.

Remember:

1. Disability isn't a bad word
2. Disabled people are the experts in their own lives
3. Not every disability is visible
4. Pointing out inaccessibility will give agency to your life
5. Every disabled person is different
6. Disabled lives intersect every other live
7. Speaking up about life experience will bring awareness
8. Disabled people have autonomy over their own lives

We have experienced 1st hand damaged wheelchairs and mobility equipment during flights and heard countless stories from others on this topic.

Another issue with Air travel seems to be a lack of communication or in this case staff when it comes to helping disembark disabled passengers.

James Casserly, a 16 year old who has cerebral palsy, has set himself the challenge to travel to all 32 counties on public transport to find out exactly how accessible Ireland is.

He reviews everything from wheelchair ramp availability to disabled toilet provisions in all the places he visits.

James says "I want wheelchair users to be able to go wherever they please and not have to worry about checking all that stuff themselves beforehand,"

It will join Morgan’s Wonderland in Texas, which we have had the pleasure of visiting as the only ultra-accessible amusement park in the world.

Belfast zoo have made a substantial number of improvements to thier disability access recently.

The guided zoo mobile tour is very informative and well worth the £25!

They have also installed a changing places toilet with a changing bench and hoist in the main building.

Great news as Staff at Alton Towers theme park are being trained to use Makaton signing to better communicate with guests and aid accessibility around the theme park.

Makaton, which uses signs and symbols to aid communication, is known for being used by Mr Tumble.

The Inclusive Mobility and Transport Advisory Committee (IMTAC) have launched a conversation today on how we can make travel, our streets and places more accessible and inclusive in the future.

We have published a draft paper outlining our thoughts and are seeking the views of others.

We are delighted to announce the AccessoLoo team will be present at the International Women’s Day Rally on Saturday 5th March in Writers Square, Belfast.

The rally will include inspiring speeches, info stalls on the Women's Movement, singing, dancing and chanting. World Changing Women is the theme, as its women calling for an end to Violence against Women and Girls, leading the way for a safe and secure society where everyone is valued regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, disability and class.

Lauren and her assistance dog Emma are running for student welfare officer as a package.

The beautiful dog who is allowed into all the study rooms during Lauren schooling, has been trained to cope with Lauren’s stress and immediately knowing how to de-escalate a situation as it arises.

One of their specific aims if elected would be to help create new legislation within the University to allow students to have their service or assistance animals in student residence to not only cover assistance animals for students who are visually or hearing impaired, but also appeal to other types such as psychiatric service or assistance animals.

As part of the effort to crack down on traffic violations in Athens, sensors have been installed on ramps for the disabled and street crossings that detect illegal parking and send direct signals to municipal police.
