Amber, my resident female marten who popped in tonight. Obviously with the weather conditions she was more than a tad on the moist side tbh. Rather unkept at present due to the winter coat still in place, but that will be replaced by a silkier look shortly. I just love this wee girl who has really bedded in gradually over this last year and she has become a lot more tolerant and trusting at the hide. She is a belter ❤❤❤

A day out with the hares

31/01/2024

**Special Offer**

A full day out for £100pp over either the 13th or 14th of April.

This will consist of a 0530 start to look for beavers, otters and other river dwellers.

From there a visit to a glen via a few locations to look for Osprey, wildfowl and Brown Hare. The glen can offer Ring Ouzel, Stonechat, Whinchat, Willow Warbler, a variety of raptors plus other fauna.

If time allows, as it will be all done at an easy pace, a visit up a relatively easy hill to see mountain hare and other mountain dwellers.

From there, we'd go back to my hide for Red Squirrel, Woodpeckers, Nuthatch etc plus Pine Marten.

This is a full on day but ALL done at your pace.

Feel free to PM/DM me if interested.

A brilliant night tonight with my client Claire. My first physical daylight sighting of a marten this year tho I've got them on the trail cameras a few times. In this case it was the female who I am now going to name Amber. We then had to wait a bit for the male popping in, he was a good bit later than his usual visits these last few weeks. Anyway, we had a great night enjoying nature at it's most raw and best, thanks Claire for your company and well done for lasting so long. A wee review on tripadvisor?

On Saturday I facilitated a wee "recce" tour that was very successful. I'm considering offering a similar offer in the near future. Here are some of the images from Saturday, my clients also had a visit by one of the pine martens.

It's always more than a pleasure to have previous clients get in touch. Today was lovely, I met Marcel and Marlies and their lovely daughter Lucy for a coffee. Marcel and Marlies are teachers from the Netherlands and I'd taken them a good few years back, on a hare/caper/marten tour. All tours successful and we've kept in touch ever since, they're such a lovely family and it was great to meet up again. Apparently Marcel's mum follows me on FB from Holland. Social media can be a great thing and although I don't particularly like it, this kinda thing is just lovely.

I'm considering offering a full day out doing a wee recce tour of a good few locations at the start of April. We'd be visiting some sites that I've not had the opportunity of visiting due to other commitments. There are no promises that we might get the looked for species, hence the recce to see what's there. I do have specific creatures in mind that I'll share with the group on the day.

The day will culminate at my hide for hopefully a marten visit or two. This will be an early start and a late finish, and I'm considering either the 8th or 9th of April.

I'm offering this at £100pp for the full day. There is a limit of four in the group, first come first served etc. I'll be providing the transport, hide, snacks (not meals) on the day.

If interested, please pm me.

It's mental just now on how much I'm spending on feeding the fauna at my hide, keeping clients cosy, insured etc. This week alone I've spent over £200 on bait and gas! I'm now generally £150 per week to run the hide. This from £75 two years ago, it's making things pretty close to unviable tbh. I try and keep my prices low enough to be fair and competitive, more importantly, to be affordable to all, which is and has been my ultimate goal. We will revisit the numbers at the end of the year and ascertain how we can and IF we can, move forward. It's generally and ALWAYS been forward regardlesd tho, for good or bad, how long that's sustainable is not looking particularly rosy tho. PMA, and I've heaps of it folks, will I dare say see me through things whatever the outcome ❤️.

A decent FULL day out for a minimal price. What's not to like?

As a February treat and knowing how much things are costing currently, we at Nature Nuts are determined to still provide an affordable hide visit that is open to all to enjoy nature. So, with that in mind we are offering the hide at £50pp for the FULL day, that is THE full 24hrs. Kids under 16 always go free and families are always more than welcome. The hide can more than comfortably seat four, but there is also capacity for eight+.

So, regarding watching wildlife in a very comfortable and heated hide with a good variety of species visiting, including pine marten, nuthatch and red squirrel, you won't find a better deal over the month of February.

Stay calm and beaver on guys. Regarding beaver tours, we will have an update on those soon.

Looking for a wee punt guys from those that have been on a tour with me over the years. Times are obviously a wee bit more of a challenge for my wee business lately due to varying factors. What I'm asking for is a wee mention on Tripadvisor (Nature Nuts). This does make a difference to/for my future clients. Thanks in advance and if you can help out, it'd be greatly appreciated ❤️❤️❤️ This may be my last year of providing all my tours, again due to a variety of reasons, mainly due to rising costs and me not willing to pass them on to customers (you've just gotta love Brexit!!!!). Anyhoo, I'll keep plodding away this year and hopefully provide the same affordable options in 2023. Be safe, be healthy ❤️❤️❤️

It was lovely to facilitate a wee tour on a last minute notice today for Emma, Doug, and their two youngsters Beatrice and Seb. Feel free to check out our reviews, we are pretty consistent.

It's what we at Nature Nuts photography do, a great inclusive outing catering for all the family. We're a local business that promotes Blairgowrie and the local glens/area and what we have to offer.....the wonderful fauna and flora that we have on our very own doorstep. We also champion like-minded establishments that promote and encourage the reengagement with nature.

I'm always in awe at nature and what it throws up to me as a spectator. Since I set my hide up 6 years ago, this gorgeous chap has been a regular and he is a stunning creature to witness literally within a few feet of you. I'm presuming I won't have much longer with him due to the pine martens life span but it has been, and still is, a massive privilege spending time with him. Last night he stayed for around 30mins but the funny thing was the appearance of his offspring. I have a few motion detecting lights set up and approx 20 mins into his dining, the lights flared up. Sure enough two heads and four illuminated eyes appeared in the gloom. As much as one twin egged on the other neither were too comfortable hooking up with pops. He did shoot off, cleared the area and then returned to finish off his breakfast. The heads and eyes then reappeared in the background, held on for 5mins or so then realised that this time wasn't ideal for them.

My favourite tour by a mile is the beaver outing, I just love it. However, all good things must come to an end and my beaver tours, barring a couple of early September visits, will be ceasing at the end of this month. It has been generally, a very productive season watching these incredible creatures.

As previously posted, we at Nature Nuts photography are offering our woodland hide through the month of September at £60pp. Unfortunately we've had to do a slight increase of £10pp from what was previously offered due to feed/bait prices etc still increasing, apologies for this but it's well beyond my control unfortunately, but I've got to cover my costs one way or another and I hope you'll all be understanding in that respect. As most will be aware, I'll continually seek to keep my prices as low as I can and offer realistic tariffs that are affordable to most. As always, young adults under 16 ALWAYS go free 😁

The hide hire is a 24hr occupancy (if required), it's well lit (if required), comfortable, cosy and easily accessible with only a 15m walk from car to hide. It's a sole occupancy with no other persons/groups on your chosen day other than your own party. You are free to come and go as you please throughout the day.

General species that visit regularly are, and in no particular order; Red Squirrel, Pine Marten, Jay, Siskin, Nuthatch, Siskin, Sparrowhawk, Wren, Goldfinch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Treecreeper, Roe and Fallow deer etc.

If interested, please have no hesitation in getting back to me. Feel free to share this post as I don't think there are many, if any, other better offers on the go at present 😁 🙏 ❤️

If you find a better deal, £50pp for a full day, let me know. I'm still considering continuing this deal through September.

Well done to Petra for getting the "twins" tonight. As far as I'm aware they've had a good day. They've taken advantage of the £50pp offer for our woodland hide. There are still a few dates for the hide in August, 12th, 18th, 25th and 31st. You really can't go wrong at this price, it's a full day hire, hide is well stocked, roomy and generally very comfortable. Thanks to Petra for the image.

It's what we do to a more than decent standard. Multiple beavers spotted, doing what they do, some close, some very close, some feeding, some grooming and some just swimming about.

A lovely night out with clients on Wednesday evening, Terry and his family Karen, Kimberly and Erin plus their pal Zoe had a decent night wandering around beaver dams and lodges plus watching not only three colonies of beavers throughout their visit but we also had a multitude of bird sightings including kingfishers.
