We love promoting self expression and seeing children’s confidence growing at Bee in the Woods and wanted to share this heartwarming and very proud moment from the last week of term at our Portslade site.
🎼As we were preparing for our annual Christmas singsong with families, we were approached by one little bee with a dream. “Can I sing a solo?” He asked us
🗣Now, we weren’t anticipating any solo performances, but this little bee was adamant that he really did want to sing all by himself to all of the families at our gathering
🎤He asked if he could first try singing in front of friends during together time. Of course! His friends were very encouraging and inspired by his confidence, lots of them also had a go at singing a solo to the group
🎄The big day arrived: our family festive singsong. As our group songs drew to a close, we spotted our soloist eagerly looking on, still wondering if he could sing by himself to the crowd. We invited him forwards (unsure if he’d still want to sing with so many families present). He did. This little bee sang his heart out so clearly and the crowd cheered and clapped, truly in awe of his self-confidence
🐝And that’s what it’s all about. Nurturing every soul. Allowing every unique child to shine. Celebrating every talent and dream

🌳 Almost there…! Our Stanmer Park Kindergarten is due to open the woodland gates to our first little bees this week. We have been working with @btnhovefood for the best part of four years to bring our Stanmer dream to life. We are over the moon that it’s finally happening and Bee in the Woods Stanmer is here! 🎉

🌱 Our space is the enchanting Quiet Garden in the Well Bering gardens. Tucked away behind the One Garden and nestled in between the South Downs, the Great Wood and the orchards of Stanmer. We feel so lucky to be here and to be able to offer childcare line no other from such an amazing space!

We’ve had a little help from our friends this week as we prepare for the new term and the opening of our new #stanmerpark Nature Kindergarten!!

The beautiful quiet garden in the #stanmerwellbeinggardens will be our home from 12th September and we can’t wait! Sending a HUGE thanks to friends and families, who have joined us this week to clear brambles, nettles and litter - opening up magical spaces for play and exploration with our little bees!

We feel so lucky to be able to share this magical space with local families as an early years setting- imagine how capable, creative, strong, resilient and connected to the natural world our little bees are going to be with this space as their classroom! If only all classrooms could be like this… 🌳
