Heading south now down the west side of Lake Windermere with splendid views to the central fells from Latterbarrow. Paddled, laughed and, of course, ate. This great group had their final meal together anticipating the last leg of the Windermere Ring tomorrow.

Day 4 of our Gower adventure.
Today's walk picked up where we finished yesterday.
We headed for 3 cliffs bay and onto Cefn Bryn following the Gower way.
A great bunch who have walked the length of Gower in just 2 days.

Day 3 of our Gower adventure.
Killay to Mumbles and then the coast path to Southgate.
A bit of an epic day covering half the length of Gower in a day. Tomorrow we'll complete the job and walk from Southgate to Llangennith.

The Windermere Ring continues to delight. Bowness to Ambleside today via Orrest Head and Troutbeck. Roy amply demonstrated his cow whispering powers. Ended sunning ourselves beside Lake Windermere.

New Year in Spain....Would walking your way into 2025 Spanish style be something that you would fancy?

First leg of the Windermere Ring successfully completed - Newby Bridge to Bowness. Apart from the summit of Gummers How, we only encountered one person in 17 kms. Very much a Secret Hills walk!!

Today our Pyrenees group had a choice of a high level traverse or a low level hike both taking the group to see the huge waterfalls at the head of the Ordesa National Park. It's been a day of big views, so many waterfalls and lots of wild flowers.

Cold drinks again by the hotel pool.

The Spanish Pyrenees is most certainly giving our group memories to last a lifetime ❤️

The summer weather has arrived in Gower for our first holiday. Our guests are walking the best that Gower has to offer over the next 5 days.
After a great arrival day walk to Rhosilli beach and Burry Holm we got to know each other over a lovely meal.
Today we walked over Llanmadoc hill and to the famous salt marshes. We were blessed by fantastic weather and spectacular views.

A good introductory afternoon walk to start our Windermere Ring holiday. Not quite the sunshine we’d hoped for in June, but at least we avoided the rain!

Today our Pyrenees group have hiked a spectacular high level mountain traverse in the majestic Ordesa National Park. So many huge views, so many waterfalls and cascading rivers and so many WOWS.
Cold drinks were definitely needed post walk.

The group did brilliantly today. Very proud of them all.

Our Pyrenees group have had a fabulous first day hiking in the magnificent Bujaruelo valley and Valle de Otal. So many wild flowers and we were lucky enough to see marmots.
Lunch by the waterfall and an opportunity to have a dip which at 1600m was wonderful and fresh.

It's been a day of WOWS ❤️

Our FIRST Pyrenees holiday starts on Friday. This holiday completely sold out within 48 hours with 16 lucky folk arriving Friday. Our Spanish based guides Pete and Jill have been out today checking the routes and looking at the abundance of beautiful wild flowers that await the group. Looks set to be a fabulous week 🌞♥️

Last day in the Shropshire Hills and Ironbridge Gorge, Heritage, history day, China Clay, Tiles of every colour and design, and the sprit of our longest rivers floods over the years. Did the river get up so high? Yes - and it does often.

What a super walking venue - our group enjoyed three different, scenic walks in the Jurassic coastal area of East Dorset.

Secret Hills Walking holidays: crafted by walkers for walkers. You matter to us – we believe you deserve the best. Short Breaks For Singles: We specialise in organising a variety of different short holiday breaks in the UK and Europe where you can travel solo and meet new friends in a safe, lively, relaxed and stress free way.

The story so far

In 2002 – realising a dream- with no real sense of where do we go with this – an advert in Country Walking magazine – ha, 38 people responded. The hook initially was the beautiful Shropshire Hills – indeed a secret. Just 4 weekend programmes in 2003 – but learning all the way. Introduced social walking weekend for singles – it still runs today- hit the right button and many people enjoyed the delights of the Shropshire Hills. If we can do it in Shropshire – why not else where – so Derbyshire Dales added – then other areas – following the principal of no single supplement, social walking, good food and good company. In 2005 – off we go to Madeira start of our European journey which now has us walking in 13 countries. BUT – the people who were the backbone of the business from the start – they deserve the credit, they followed the same format as we rolled out into all of the UK. Where now – wow, the opportunities are vast, the worlds is a beautiful place. But we must keep that friendly, personal touch, the ethics of excellent walking opportunities, the ability to look after you and give you a tremendous walking and social experience. Now – with super people working for the business, we grow from strength to strength – join us for that special break.
