Great to see this historic building in Corwen has been saved and will be restored, proud to be one of the shareholders!

We had a lovely review….

We booked Henfaes Isaf for a new year’s getaway and it exceeded our expectations. The house really is stunning. The weather wasn’t kind to us, we had torrential rain the whole stay but it didn’t spoil the trip as the house is so cosy and warm, the prefect place to snuggle up with a book in front of the open fire or cook a lovely meal and use the beautiful dining room. Moyra and Ian have thought of everything you could need. Lots of crockery and cooking utensils, fabulous utility room, towels, and blankets. Although the house is old the bathroom is modern and the shower is good. The house is very clean, we played a lot of hide and seek with our son and didn’t find a speck of dust. We didn’t have reception with our phone networks but the internet worked fine. Lots of detailed information provided about the house and local attractions. The house is off the beaten track but managed the drive fine with the instructions provided and the views were worth it. We hope to stay again soon.

Lots of ideas for adventures and walks here - the T3 stops in Cynwyd.

The T3 is one of the many Welsh-government sponsored long-distance TrawsCymru routes, and runs all the way from Y Bermo (Barmouth) to Wrecsam. A little known fact is that after exposing corruption in the NYPD, the real life Frank Serpico came to live in peaceful Corwen as part of a community in the 1970s. I’ll certainly be going to see this in the cinema on re-release.

This walk takes you right past our cottage.

Our Walk 5 on Saturday 2nd September is the Tegid Way to Llandrillo. You start this walk in Corwen and walk down the former railway line into Cynwyd where you pick up the Tegid Way following it up to the Wayfarers track which you ascend before heading down into Llandrillo. One of the nicest benches by a stream in the Berwyn to be enjoyed on this walk. A really good day walk suitable for most people. From Llandrillo you will be collected and brought back to Corwen.

A lovely day out from the cottage.

🌊Pistyll Rhaeadr is a breathtaking waterfall near the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Powys.

💧It's the tallest single-drop waterfall in Britain, standing at an impressive height of 240 feet (80 meters)!

🚶Hiking fans can enjoy several trails around the falls that lead you through picturesque landscapes where you can take in the panoramic views of the Berwyn Mountains.

📍Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Oswestry SY10 0BZ - make your way along Waterfall Street for four miles until the road ends at the waterfall car park.

Corwen's recently opened heritage railway platform opened earlier this month. Why not take the opportunity to park up in Corwen and catch the train to Llangollen for the food festival this year?

We'll update on times and prices closer to the festival, but if you can't wait until October check out Llangollen Railway for the latest events and train rides through the beautiful Dee Valley.

Bryniau Clwyd a Dyffryn Dyfrdwy - Clwydian Range and Dee Valley are delighted to launch the third season of the Dee Valley Picturesque Bus to provide access to some of the key destinations in this beautiful and historic landscape.
