A lovely day out from Nookie Cottage is a trip to Fingle Bridge and Castle Drogo . Just 11 miles north of Exeter and an hours drive from Dartmouth . They are both National Trust owned and Fingle Bridge is set on the Teign in a beautiful glen full of babbling water . We walked the scenic circular route to Drogo Castle but there’s plenty of parking at the castle if you prefer that option ! It is definitely a testing 2.5 - 3 hour walk but worth it for the views !

We’ve had the most wonderful time at the Dart Music Festival ! First time for us . It’s unbelievable how many excellent performers there are at a number of different sites around beautiful Dartmouth . There is certainly something for everyone and the sun shone 😎

Thoroughly recommend a visit to Bushells restaurant on your trip to Dartmouth . Delicious food served with a warm friendly greeting …. and that panoramic view of the river ! Wow !

A mammoth coastal walk ! Crossing the river on the lower ferry and following the coast path to Brixham harbour . Not for the faint hearted ! Allow a day for this one and take plenty of snacks. The scenery is amazing ! Oh and treat yourselves to the bus home 😉
