On the stunning coastline Dawlish Warren is ideally located to visit Devons highlights. Air & Rail -Exeter Airport is 13.5 miles or 35 minutes away by car. Dawlish Warren is direct by train from Exeter Central or Exeter St Davids having links direct to London. By car Exeter, Exmouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Torbay, Newton Abbot and Plymouth are all with in an hour or so. The stunning heart of Devon- Dartmoor is easily accessible as is the stunning coastline and all its nook and crannies. On the doorstep Dawlish Warren railway station provides easy and picturesque access to the city of Exeter (15mins), Plymouth (1 Hr) and Exmouth (54 mins). Locally you can journey in minutes by train to Dawlish, Teignmouth, Paighton & Torquay, Newton Abbot, Totnes and beyond. Regular local bus services serve all the above local and major locations with bus stops located in the village centre. Rail News. Two special trains this coming weekend. On Friday 30th August the Midland Pullman will be passing Dawlish at 4.28pm as it travels down from Dumfries in Scotland to Penzance. On Saturday it has another excursion from Penzance to Bath. Dawlish times of passing are 10.58am and the return at 6.42pm. On Sunday 1st September its return run to Dumfries passes Dawlish at 12.34pm. Also on Sunday there is the final Royal Duchy of the year and once again Black 5 44871 will be powering it through Dawlish at 11.49am and the return will be at 7.19pm The weather forecast for the weekend is pretty good so what can go wrong!

This coming Sunday, the 21st April is Drive It Day. This is celebrated by classic vehicle clubs and owners across the country and was first organised in 2005 by Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs . It remembers the one Thousand Mile Trial of 1900 and the first motor cars. For many it marks the start of the classic car season and we will be at The Lawn, Dawlish on what is forecast to be a dry day so come on down!
