On the stunning coastline Dawlish Warren is ideally located to visit Devons highlights. Air & Rail -Exeter Airport is 13.5 miles or 35 minutes away by car. Dawlish Warren is direct by train from Exeter Central or Exeter St Davids having links direct to London. By car Exeter, Exmouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Torbay, Newton Abbot and Plymouth are all with in an hour or so. The stunning heart of Devon- Dartmoor is easily accessible as is the stunning coastline and all its nook and crannies. On the doorstep Dawlish Warren railway station provides easy and picturesque access to the city of Exeter (15mins), Plymouth (1 Hr) and Exmouth (54 mins). Locally you can journey in minutes by train to Dawlish, Teignmouth, Paighton & Torquay, Newton Abbot, Totnes and beyond. Regular local bus services serve all the above local and major locations with bus stops located in the village centre. Just one train stop away the Starcross to Exmouth ferry operates, providing a stunning way to see the River Exe Estuary and enjoy the Exmouth resort. Local Bike hire offers the opportunity to experience the Exe Estuary Trail. This newly constructed cycle trail offers an almost entirely traffic-free, wonderfully level route which forms part of the South Coast NCN No.2. Rail News. Two special trains this coming weekend. On Friday 30th August the Midland Pullman will be passing Dawlish at 4.28pm as it travels down from Dumfries in Scotland to Penzance. On Saturday it has another excursion from Penzance to Bath. Dawlish times of passing are 10.58am and the return at 6.42pm. On Sunday 1st September its return run to Dumfries passes Dawlish at 12.34pm. Also on Sunday there is the final Royal Duchy of the year and once again Black 5 44871 will be powering it through Dawlish at 11.49am and the return will be at 7.19pm The weather forecast for the weekend is pretty good so what can go wrong!

The biggest classic vehicle event in the South West is taking place here at Powderham in July!

Join us on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th of July for the annual Historic Vehicle Gathering, hosted by Crash Box & Classic Car Club. Enjoy a journey through over 100 years of motoring history, with a huge variety of vintage & classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles on display, each with their own unique story.

A range of live music, traders, food vendors and family entertainment will also be available.

This coming Sunday, the 21st April is Drive It Day. This is celebrated by classic vehicle clubs and owners across the country and was first organised in 2005 by Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs . It remembers the one Thousand Mile Trial of 1900 and the first motor cars. For many it marks the start of the classic car season and we will be at The Lawn, Dawlish on what is forecast to be a dry day so come on down! So comment below and tell us what you are bringing or come and wander round all the classics and enjoy the cafes and shops in Dawlish.
