‘I distinctly remember wishing our farmhouse guests a happy Christmas for our first opening booking. There were roars of family laughter, the clinking of glasses, the beautiful smell of Christmas dinner and festive carols playing. The farmhouse was alive’. Ollie, owner 🏡

*BIG NEWS, with Exmoor Magazine* It's taken us almost two years, working with The Rivers Trust & FWAG (https://www.fwagsw.org.uk) to secure our 15 acre wetland area and create our master plan. Wildlife can thrive in abundance and guests reconnect with our important landscape. For the local community of Bampton Community (Devon), it must be a familiar sight to see often flooded, rushy and unproductive land throughout the years. We can't wait to share more news with you soon! 🏡

Today, with other close neighbours, we remember the precautions during the Second World War, to ensure the safety of those living in and around Bampton. The black-out was enforced by the Air Raid Precaution Wardens, all road signs were removed, and petrol rationing was in force. Our Church bells were silent, to be used only in the event of an apparent invasion by the enemy.

Women began working and joined the Womens’ Land Army. One woman became the first female porter at Bampton Station 🏡

🏡Following our successful Christmas event last year, ℍ𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝔸𝕥 ℍ𝕠𝕝𝕨𝕖𝕝𝕝 supports Bampton School PTFA again! 🎃 You may wonder, what is the PTFA? 🤔

As soon as you have a child within the school you are automatically a member of our Parent Teacher Friend Association. This is an organisation with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn. Bampton Church of England Primary School brings together parents, teachers and children to raise funds and strengthen the school community. Money raised is usually spent on things that the school budget does not cover.
