Lovely clear skies and a snow covering today. We have had a cancellation in Loch Cottage for the Christmas period. If you haven't decided yet on your destination for then, come and stay with us here. Open fire, huge welcome. Available to December 29th.

Photos coming of fifty shades of beautiful autumn colours and super mild weather. Managed a spot of archery this afternoon up at the back of the garden towards the saw mill with Graham. What a good shot he is, makes his own bows and arrows! New Year still available, Christmas too, why not come for a break, lovely open fire, in the countryside yet near West Linton village.

Cottages full up hurrah as the weather is great here, burt rain forecast for the Edinburgh Marathon tomorrow. West Linton very busy with a Bikathon rally, and Old Bakehouse opens again this week under Tony Singh.

Daffodils are still at their very best. Primroses too and then rhodies in a month. Friends from the USA have just departed for Dublin. They loved Rosslyn Chapel, and Edinburgh Castle.

Just in time for Christmas and New Year whooppee Loch Cottage is getting its new kitchen this week! America Cottage and Loch Cottage is booked now for both but why not come after then for a Spring break. Cosy fires, frosty walks.

We'll announce the winner at the end of September and will send you a couple of bottles of wine (or something more suitable if you're under 18).
