NORTH BAY CRAZY GOLF COURSE - UPDATE

Both James Cornhill and myself (Richard Egan) are the developers of the North Bay Crazy Golf Course and we would like to take this opportunity to give you a detailed insight to how we plan to improve and re-vitalise the crazy golf. We have heard some very wild rumours about what we are doing on the course and would really like to put your minds at rest.
I think you will agree - whilst the area is beautiful, the crazy golf is in a shockingly bad state and has been for many years now proving to be an embarrassment to the north bay.

So now to hopefully put your mind at ease, I'd like to give you a good idea of what we plan. Firstly – our primary aim is to make this a FAMILY ATTRACTION.
Stage 1, to open the golf for the summer season ...
• Upgrade the golf holes to a high standard - we will be rebuilding each and every hole by building up the foundation of each hole, laying new grass and placing new and upgraded features. Please note - we will be keeping the original light house, castle and whale (but we have removed the spear as we think this is very distasteful).
• Replace the existing ticket booth with a new one as the existing one is rotten throughout. We will also serve hot and cold drinks, cold snacks and beach products from this booth. We would also like to serve alcohol from this booth BUT with the following conditions.
o Only for consumption in our seating area immediately in front of the booth (you cannot take drinks off this area), OR
o 1 drink only allowed to take on the golf if you have purchased a ticket for golf.
• We want to open the golf for summer but throughout the summer we will make lots more improvements such as upgrading the paths between each hole & tidying up the grass banks along the back of the course.
• At the end of the summer, we would like to level up all the land around the holes and lay brand new grass - to make the entire area level and look amazing.
• To have the raw sewage leak fixed. I'm not sure if you are aware but for years there has been a major leak into the middle of the course at the bottom of the bank, this is both disgraceful and very harmful to the environment. We have spent time and money looking into this with Yorkshire water, the results showed that there is a cracked sewage pipe under the land just in front of the North Cliffe Golf Club, this sewage has worked its way underground all the way down the bank and is constantly leaking into the open at the edge of the golf course. Ultimately this could even cause the bank to slip and the paths to close that are there for access to the beach.
Stage 2, possibly at the end of this season (this stage would need planning permission before we even think to begin) ...
• We would like to either extend the golf or think of some other nice attraction to fill the land that is at the end of the golf course (towards the Sealife), this area is extremely scruffy and really needs improvement. PS. If you have any ideas, we would really love to hear these.
• To compliment whatever we do here, we simply want to place a ticket booth which will be a duplicate of the ticket booth at the south end, with a beautiful decking area in front of the booth with seating to sit and relax with a drink whilst watching your family play on the attraction.
• At the moment this is all we have applied for with Licensing. In the future we may make a separate application for a small wine / pizza bar / restaurant in the middle of the course but be rest assured this is going to be very posh and very quiet. Simply a place to sit and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine with pizza or tapas and watch the world go by, or watch your children play on the golf course. But this would be a brand-new application that would need to go through lots of scrutiny to be even considered, not forgetting planning permission.

We realise our current premises license may have given the wrong idea and fed any wild rumours of our intentions so to further give you even more peace of mind we have made major changes to our current license application, these are ...
• We WILL NOT be providing films.
• We WILL NOT be providing live music.
• We WILL NOT be providing anything similar to live music, recorded music or dance.
• We WILL NOT be providing late night refreshments.
• We have changed the opening times to 08:00 - 22:30 (we have chosen the close time to reflect when it gets dark in peak summer)
• We have changed the supply of alcohol times to 10:00 - 22:00
• On our license we will offer the following conditions
o Recorded music
 To be played at a back ground level.
 Music relating to the golf only to be played, such as pirate related etc.
o To purchase alcohol, customers must either
 Sit in the designated seating area in front of the booth
 Purchase a ticket for a game of crazy golf - 1 drink only per person per game.
As you can see, we will not have any live music of any kind and will only be playing low level backgrounds ‘pirate’ themed music (no different to the Sealife Golf) thus we will not be introducing any noise into the area. I’m absolutely blown away with the reviews and still hitting the 5* overall rating.. it’s been a challenging year and we’ve learnt a lot but love making people’s happy memories ❤️
