When we arrived at Crossing Cottage the kitchen was very dated and was just not suitable for a holiday let and so with the help of and we have transformed it into a modern kitchen that has still kept its heritage charm. For a small space we have managed to incorporate a dishwasher, a roomy fridge/freezer (with plenty of space for that special bottle of fizz), a washing machine, the essential microwave, electric hob and oven and a microwave, and a coffee machine (coffee pods are included in the welcome pack). There is even a handmade table (it was a tight space and needed to be specially designed to fit) with banquette seating and stools to easily fit 4 guests. There is everything you need here for home cooked meals although with the variety of restaurants to try nearby you will be spoilt for choice.

Meet Darren, your co host at Helmsley Meadows. When he is not running his consultancy company he is helping out and maintaining the gardens. He is also an expert at heating up the wood fired hot tub. When he gets the time he loves to go out on his road bike cycling around the Yorkshire moors.

Hi, I wanted to introduce myself. I’m Karen and your host at Helmsley Meadows. I have had a varied career including Primary school teacher and nursery manager but it was when I became a property consultant with a holiday letting company that I knew where my real passion lay. I hope that at Crossing cottage I have taken what works well with holiday letting and created a cosy and relaxing home where you can just take some time out in nature (or the hot tub) to recharge and rejuvenate yourself.
