We were quite surprised to hear recently how many of you didn’t know you should (or just don’t!) clean your edible printer regularly! 🖨️😱

Think about it this way… you wouldn’t just put away any other kind of cake decorating equipment without cleaning it first would you?! 🤔 We hope not! 🧼

Your edible printer is an investment too, so taking good care of it not only means you will continue to produce edible images with the best possible print quality, but your printer will last much longer without troubles! 🙌

Here’s our top tips on how to treat your edible printer to the pampering it deserves…

✨ Make sure to use your edible printer AT LEAST weekly to keep the edible ink moving and avoid clogs.

✨ Even with regular printing we recommend carrying out a quick cleaning & maintenance routine every 2-4 weeks to keep things running smoothly (you can find our recommended cleaning steps in our blog!)

✨ Before storing your printer for longer than a few days, you MUST remove the edible ink cartridges and clean the printhead to avoid edible ink crystallising and forming a blockage, causing havoc next time you come to use your printer!

✨ Before printing, run a couple of test prints on printing paper to make sure there are no blockages, before you print onto your edible sheets! If things don’t look quite right, print a nozzle check pattern to find out more.

✨ Use our dedicated Edible Printer Cleaning & Maintenance Kit to make regular upkeep a breeze! The specially formulated cleaner is the best (& easiest!) way to keep your printhead working as it should, making sure you’re never caught off-guard with a build up of pesky edible ink blockages!
