The Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival is returning this October 11-14th, showcasing local produce in our region. 🧀

We have lots to offer at our Visitor Centre including our Cheese Experience where you can watch one of our team craft a Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese in our Demonstration Room. Try our Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival specials in our Calvert's Restaurant and 1897 Coffee Shop. To finish, why not explore the Cheese and Gift Shop before you leave.

Where's the best place you've ever stayed in the Yorkshire Dales, or where have you always wanted to go? Cottage, B&B, campsite, hotel or other place to stay? What’s good about your favourite places?

Would be good to give new visitors sone suggestions.

The photo obviously isn't a great place to stay now but it's one of my favourite romantic ruins, Lobley Hall near Masham. You can tell from the quality of the stone masonry on the window surrounds that it was once a much grander place. Every time I walk there I wonder about its former inhabitants and how it used to be, and why such a lovely place was abandoned.

passed me by this week (I’m sure I’m not the only one 😂), so I need to give some belated and well deserved appreciation to our fabulous locals. The Chippie in Hawes is simply the best for an old-school sit-in fish supper 😋, and our heroes Ramsay's Fish and Chip Van faithfully bring their delicious grub to Bainbridge every Tuesday 👏 . Do our guests have any reviews or other recommendation to share?

Well, that’s us pretty much booked right up until winter! We have one gap for a 4 night autumn stay from Mon 14th to Fri 18th October, then our next availability is from Sunday 3rd November. If you fancy something in your autumn / winter calendar to look forward to just drop me a line with your preferred dates. Min stay 2 nights, otherwise we’re pretty flexible so please just ask - shy bairns get nowt, as they say in my neck of the woods! Sarah x

Thank you Mr Postman! Nice delivery today. The cottage is available from next Monday (6th May) until Fri 17th - let us know if you fancy a few days in the beautiful Dales, or even just a visit to the cottage to admire our freshly decorated walls and new air fryer!! 😂 x

Anyone for a night or 2 (or 3 or 4) away this week? Syke Cottage is available from *tomorrow* Mon 22 April until Friday 26 April. We’ve had our lovely decorator Brian and his team in this weekend to give the place a bit of a spruce-up and we’re ready and raring for a busy spring / summer ahead. Just drop me a line if you fancy a last minute break away in beautiful Bainbridge (picture taken last weekend - check out the blue skies and sunshine!!). Sarah 😊

We made our customary stop at Aysgarth Falls as we reluctantly left Wensleydale today. The Falls were looking very watery indeed after all the recent 🌧️ ☔️ 🌊! The woodland flowers are just beautiful - anemone and the first glimpse of this year’s bluebells added a welcome splash of colour. Lunch at the Mill Race Teashop and a little mooch around the Yore Mill craft shop rounded off our quick visit to the Dales beautifully. Back home now to iron the school uniforms and badger the kids about the homework they’ve been ignoring for the last 2 weeks! 🙄
