We’ve just returned from our first boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads which was full of excitement, adventure plus amazing sunsets and nature. We were grateful for all of the tips and advice we received before we left (see earlier post) but here are my own tips having done the trip:

1. Bring cash for the water and fuel top up and waste removal along route.
2. Bring bottled water for drinking.
3. Don’t arrive at your destination too late as mooring spaces are limited in most places. Arriving mid afternoon means you are more likely to secure a mooring for the night.
4. Book a table at the local pubs if you want to have dinner to ensure a table reservation.
5. Pack for all weather eventualities - rain jacket and walking boots and sunscreen and hats as weather can be unpredictable.
6. Have an idea of who is going to pilot the boat before you leave (ideally 2 ppl to share the load)

This poignant chapter in history has made Le Morne Brabant a symbol of the fight for freedom and resistance against oppression.
Standing 556 meters (1,824 feet) above sea level, Le Morne Brabant offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and the surrounding lagoons. The area is home to various endemic plant species and rare wildlife, making it a popular destination for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and photographers. The combination of its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscape makes Le Morne Brabant a truly unique and significant landmark in Mauritius.

Do you want to visit Hang Mua Viewpoint in Ninh Binh, Vietnam, but not sure where to start? You’ve come to the right place!

Hang Mua Viewpoint is one of the most recognisable sights in Ninh Binh, if not all of Vietnam. From here you can get that iconic panoramic views over Tam Coc rice paddies, river, dramatic cliffs and lovely Vietnamese nature.

Be aware though, to get to the view point you have to conquer 500 steep zigzag steps which is not an easy task in heat and humidity, arriving prepared with good shoes for climbing and enough water is a must.

Have you ever visited the Leaning Tower of Pisa?

Did you know…

1. The Leaning Tower of Pisa took over 200 years to build, starting in 1173 and not being completed until 1372. During this time, the tower began to lean due to the soft ground it was built on.

2. The tower leans at an angle of about 3.99 degrees. Despite efforts to straighten it, the lean has actually increased over the years. In the late 20th century, extensive restoration work was done to stabilize the tower and prevent further leaning.

3. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is not the only leaning tower in Pisa. There are actually several other leaning towers in the city, but the most famous and iconic one is the one that houses the bell tower of the Cathedral of Pisa.
