BREAKING NEWS
The international travel traffic light system is being simplified in England with a single red list, as part of an overhaul of the rules from 4 October.
The Amber list will be scrapped and there are also significant changes to the UK testing requirements:
- As of the 4th October there will only be one red list. Anywhere not on the red list is considered to be safe to travel to.
- Also from the 4th October you will no longer be required to take a lateral flow test whilst in resort for your return back to the UK.
- From the end of October (exact date unconfirmed) you will no longer need to take a PCR test on day 2 of your return from abroad - instead you will need to take a much less expensive lateral flow test.
The following destinations have also been removed from the red list:
- Turkey
- The Maldives
- Pakistan
- Egypt
- Sri Lanka
- Oman
- Bangladesh
- Kenya

Whilst we await further information on the 'Traffic Light System' from the UK Government, here is a handy guide detailing the current information we have for proposed foreign travel this Summer.
This doesn't feature what may be required to leave the UK and enter a foreign country as this will be determined by each country individually - but it shows what will be required for you to re-enter the UK at the end of your holiday.

ADVENTURE ON A STAYCATION AT SEA

Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this semi-detached former barn has been sympathetically converted and is now an outstanding property.
Hebden is a quiet village located along the Dales Way in Upper Wharfedale, and within walking distance of the beautiful Dales villages of Appletreewick, Burnsall and Grassington.
Tastefully converted, it combines character and charm and is carefully co-ordinated together with all the modern conveniences. The Great Glen Way is a 79-mile walk through Scotland’s most famous Glen; crossing on foot from Fort William, via the famed shores of Loch Ness, to Inverness. The Great Glen Way takes you through beautiful forests, past peaceful working canals and alongside brooding lochs. You start your adventure in Fort William, at the base of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. You then follow the Caledonian Canal via Neptune’s Staircase to Gairlochy, before continuing up Loch Lochy to South Laggan, and on to Fort Augustus via Loch Oich and Kytra Lock. The Great Glen Way then follows the western shore of Loch Ness passing the highland towns of Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit until you reach the historic town of Inverness.
