When you've put the children to bed, and got a few minutes to yourself, why not read Qur'an rather than watch TV? And this is only one of countless examples! A rest is a change of activity, not necessarily a state of inactivity:)

It's a good idea to get into good habits now just before Ramadhan! Make the most of this month of Sha'baan to set yourself goals, and start working towards them now slowly and getting into the right gear. For example, if you plan to read more Qur'an, increase your recital now as it takes time for habits to develop.

Regarding Sha'baan, the Messenger of Allah SAW said:
‘That is a month to which people do not pay attention, between Rajab and Ramadaan, and it is a month in which deeds are lifted up to the Lord of the Worlds. I like for my deeds to be lifted up when I am fasting.’” (Narrated by al-Nasaa’i, see Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, page 425).
