Three unique things our partners @intoursdmc think you should know about Split:
1. You’ve probably heard that the old town of Split is a UNESCO World Heritage Site... But did you know the Cathedral of St. Domnius, is the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world. In fact it’s still used in its original form without any major changes.
2. If you need a little extra luck when you’re in Split, time to find the statue of bishop Grgur Ninski. Revered by the Croats for defending the Croatian language in the liturgy. It is said that rubbing his toe will bring you 10 years of good luck.
3. Split is the Croatian city of sport with the most Olympic medal winners per capita. With more than seventy champions under their belt, you can find their names engraved on the Olympic Walk of Fame on the city’s West Promenade.
