"Just returned from Val Verde and what a place! A hidden gem! Stayed at 102 overlooking the pool with plenty of sun beds which was fabulous, so clean and well equipped. .. A 7/8 minute walk to a square where you will find a few restaurants, bars, designer shops and a supermarket. Definitely recommend."

Already a firm favourite with many of our regular clients, check out the details of these apartments with free use of a communal pool and children's pool. With 3 restaurants on site and more within walking distance, this is a great holiday base.

Another lovely small island to explore off the coast. Add it onto a day out around the old town of . holidays!

Ilha do Farol is only 15 minutes away from Faro and is located in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. 💚 There you will find small houses belonging to the fishing and shellfishing community, several cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy a range of seafood and fish dishes and a wonderfull beach. Have you heard of Portugal's "Carnation Revolution"? Today, the 25 April, many people in Portugal are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Portugal's "Carnation Revolution" that brought down the longest fascist dictatorship in Europe and ushered in democracy.

The uprising on 25 April 1974 was later named the Carnation Revolution due to the fact that many of the soldiers placed this iconic red flower in the barrels of their rifles to show that their actions were not directed against the public, but against the repressive Estado Novo regime.

Enjoyed the dramatic views at de Sao Vicente on my recent trip. Standing on the cliffs here you can see why it's called the 'lands end' of Europe. This is the extreme southwestern most point on the continent with one of the most powerful lighthouses in Europe.
