Books about Town

Books about Town Unique public art event to celebrate London's literary heritage and reading for enjoyment. Summer 2014. www.booksabouttown.org.uk

Up to seventy benches shaped as open books, decorated by famous illustrators and local artists, will appear on trails around London for the public to enjoy. It will be a unique opportunity to explore the capital’s literary connections, to enjoy art from some of the country’s top artists and to experience the joy of reading for pleasure. At the end of summer 2014, all the benches will be auctioned to raise funds for the National Literacy Trust.

Wow! Amazing prizes!

Each year, the National Literacy Trust holds a fundraising auction to help raise money for our work. Take a look at some of our top prizes which you can win. The auction will take place on Wednesday 11 February so we encourage you to place your highest bid ahead of the live auction on the night in order to avoid disappointment.

One person in six in the UK lives with poor literacy and all the money raised through this auction goes directly towards tackling this problem.

To see the full list of prizes and to place a bid, visit our auction website here http://www.nlt-auction.co.uk/lite-ui/
