Thursday!😋

After a very busy Keith show we are back open this week and very excited to be coming out to in Spey Bay for the first time this Wednesday. We will be open from 4-7 parked outside the cafe.

We are also out at Lossiemouth on Thursday from 4-7.

We will have some new specials and deserts this week so keep your eyes on our socials.

Update: 6 Dolphins at Spey Bay seen on the 9am Shorewatch 😍

8:10am - 8 Dolphins still feeding near the river mouth.

SDC Assistant Simon has made an early start to todays spotting and has seen a pod of 17 Bottlenose Dolphins at Spey bay in close feeding 7:05am. Hopefully they stick around! 🤩🤞🐬

‼️ Public Notice: Night Flying Monday 5th-Friday 9th August‼️

Please be aware we will be running night-flying operations next week from RAF Lossiemouth.

These exercises are estimated to be from 1pm-1am, however, may be extended if required. Some noise may be heard from aircraft around the North-East during this time.

As always we thank you all for your support in ensuring we can keep our personnel trained and our nation safe.

⛳ Big news in town is that it's Moray Open week at Moray Golf Club & Pro Shop. Welcome to Lossie if you're visiting! (see below)

🎸The Golf Club has live entertainment every night this week. You do need to be a member, but social membership starts at just £1 per day.

LOSSIE FEST AIR DISPLAYS ✈

Our Friends and Families Day on 13 July will see limited air displays over the Station from 1200.

🌀 Typhoon FGR.4
⚡ F-35B Lightning II

A number of visiting aircraft will also be part of the static display.

If you're travelling to view the displays then please park in Lossiemouth, eat locally, and walk to public land north of the airfield.

As always, air displays are subject to weather and operational commitments.

🍰 Lossiemouth Loop and Cakes!

Twenty Nineteen Coffee and Kula Coffee Hut (7 miles, 2 cake stops)

Park in the small carpark at junction with B9135 and B9040, opposite the golf course (or start from Outfit Moray).

Turn left onto B9040 towards Hopeman (be traffic aware, cars can go quite fast).

Your first cake stop can be at Twenty Nineteen Coffee (10am to 4pm, Tues to Sunday).

After Twenty Nineteen Coffee take the first left and follow the road past Gordonstoun and the end of RAF Lossiemouth, then turn right on Drainie Road to Duffus Castle and Kula Coffee for your next stop (check Facebook for their opening times).

Head back towards Lossiemouth along Drainie Road, then turn left onto the cycle path along B9135.

Follow the cycle path straight across the RAF Lossiemouth roundabout and back to the car park.

🧑‍🦽 Accessibility info: all roads, so accessible for most bike types, including adapted bikes. Kula Coffee has wheelchair accessible seating just inside gate (on shallow gravel). Counter is high, but staff are friendly and helpful.

Twenty Nineteen have level access and can make space for wheelchairs where necessary.

Neither have accessible toilets.

For Service personnel, Reservists, MOD & Contracted staff based at RAF Lossiemouth and 39 Engineer Regiment, Kinloss Barracks.

Always thought about learning to fly, but not quite made that move yet? Well It is easier than you may think!!

A great first step would be to come along to our Open Day on Saturday 1st June. Have all your questions answered, perhaps take a flight, or just fly the Sim.

BBQ and light refreshments will be available.

Doors open from 1000hrs and we look forward to meeting you on the day 🛩👍

Update: 8 Bottlenose Dolphins seen heading slowly West passing Spey Bay by Simon on his 9am Shorewatch.

Hopefully the start of a Dolphin filled day 🤞SDC Assistant Simon spotted a Bottlenose Dolphin heading North on his 8am Shorewatch from Spey Bay.

The sun is shining and it’s going to be hot! Hopefully see you all later for some Dolphin Spotting and cake! 🐬🍰😎🌞
