Arts Festival returns again in September from 6th to 16th September with the arts trail on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th.
It’s a great time to visit our amazing town.

A fantastic example of ‘well dressing’

It’s officially Well Dressing season! 🌸🌿 Check out this sweet display in the village of Little Longstone 🍭

The unique local custom of well dressings dates back hundreds of years and is believed to have originated to give thanks for local fresh water springs 💦

Well Dressings are handmade by local volunteers using natural materials such as petals and seeds which are pressed onto a clay base 🌸🌺

The displays are dotted throughout local towns and villages from May-September.

Last night we watched the lighting of the beacon at Crich Stand to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. It was very emotional thinking about all those that didn’t come back from the Normandy beaches and to thank all those that fought for our freedom 🩵

A very soggy day visiting Cromford Mills where they were filming the Antiques Roadshow today. The sun did finally come out in the end though. Darren was happy to get his photo taken with Fiona Bruce. She was so lovely and all the experts gave everyone plenty of knowledge and time.

Lovely walk from Monsal Head down to Monsal Dale in the sunshine. A bit of playtime in the river for Radley and we even managed a sneaky drink in Thornbridge Brewery on the way home and purchased some cans of Czech Mates to drink this evening during Eurovision.
