Phoenix Sea Adventures - Nairn Wildlife and more Phoenix Sea Adventures - Family boat trip departing from Nairn Harbour
(26)

Departing from Nairn Harbour on a 10.5m waterjet powered cabin rib, enjoy the magnificent views of "Fishertown" and beautiful local beaches from a totally different aspect. There's an abundance of wild-life in the area with the possibility of sightings of seals, porpoise, dolphins and basking sharks. The duration of the trip can be adjusted to suit your timescale, and departure is weather and tide dependant.

Not what we'd normally see on our boat trips, but this should be a great watch, especially with wild swimming really taking off last year πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ.

Kate MacLeod can be found swimming in seas and lochs around the Western Isles in summer - and winter.

Sounds like an interesting venture.

Wise words from one of our local and invaluable rescue services.
The sea is unpredictable, as is the weather often. Tides and currents can catch you off guard.
Don't get caught out this year.

Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation's volunteers are calling for help from the community after responding to their first call- out of the year.

Merry Christmas from everyone at Phoenix Sea Adventures.
Thank you for supporting our small business.

A challenging year for each and everyone of us.

It was truly fantastic to still get out on the water and enjoy our amazing wildlife and surroundings this year.

We are all looking forward to 'different' times ahead.
In the meantime, keep looking out each other, be kind, and most of all safe. From all of the team πŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆβ™₯️

Normally this time in October would see trips coming to an end for the season.
But this year, in keeping with the rest of 2020 we thought we'd be different!
Timoneer will stay in Nairn for the winter and if/when the weather allows, we will be here and available to head out and blow the cob webs away.

Contact us for availability.

Covid restrictions still also apply. 🚀

We had the most amazing encounter with a very active (and apparently promiscuous πŸ¬πŸ’œπŸ¬, thanks for the info Charlie Phillips Images) pod of dolphins yesterday, after we had seen about 4 basking sharks.
This video which was sent by the passengers is brilliant! Thank you so much David and Susan for sharing this with us, you caught an absolute beauty there.

Another amazing encounter with the basking sharks this morning. Mesmerising animals.
Thanks to Kirsty, Ross and little Raffy for coming out and sharing their footage for everyone to see. 🦈

3 Basking Sharks just off Nairn today, seems they are feasting right along the Moray coastline at the moment.

Sad but interesting sight on Rosemarkie beach this morning.

Experts are surprised by the discovery on the Black Isle of a species normally found in warmer waters.

"Fogbow" the wee cousin of the rainbow.

It was a funny ol' day on the water yesterday.
The haar rolled in and out a few times, the water was beautifully calm, and then this was spotted and captured by a passenger through the mist.
Lovely!

Apologies for the basking shark overload. We just can't help ourselves.
This was most definitely a fully grown mama or papa. Not far off the 10.5mtr length of the boat (and it's girth was just wow! 😳).

One of our trips today was with Nairn Connects BID, who have organised some promotion filming for the town to help us all through these tricky times.
Can't wait to see the end result footage from Scene It Media 😍 🦈

Today's trip, we saw 1 seal only, several porpoise, gannets, guillemots, terns and just on our way back to Nairn we spotted a pod of dolphins.
Hoping the lovely family on todays trip managed some snaps.

It wasn't just any old pod of dolphins, it was Spirtle ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-45011141), plus 4 or 5 others including the teeny tiny newborn calf!
Soooooooo cute 😍🐬.

Keep watching the sea, they are out there.... frequently!

We had the most amazing encounter on Saturday with around 8 dolphins.
The weather and conditions were idyllic, and the dolphins were absolutely full of fun and mischief, playing, breaching swimming upside down underneath us. It was absolutely magical! How lucky we are.
Thank you Caroline for sharing your video clip. It was definitely one to remember. 🐬🐬

We actually have 3 amazing beaches, that go on for miles and miles 😍.

We already know we are so lucky to live here, and even more so during these uncertain times.

Nairn has been ranked as having one of the best beaches in the country based on the sands themselves as well as other criteria.

This is a great app if you live near or frequently visit coastlines.
