The Food Safety Agency primarily provides scientific consultancy, education & training on behalf of the Food Standards Agency (FSA)* within the field of Food Law enforcement practice, together with scientific & educational services to the food manufacturing and processing industries - Outwith of Argyll. Specialisms are HACCP/TACCP/Traceability based FSMS (including food chain security in relation
to terrorist attack) and Food Law Enforcement Practice. The Agency continues to be highly successful and has been established for over 10 years. The Agency draws upon some 20 years specialist experience in the Life and food sciences, in Food Law Enforcement Practice and in FSMS’s* verification, within the high-risk manufacturing and processing sectors - And in teaching. The Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) comprehensively accredits the Agency to teach in Food Hygiene, in HACCP, in Nutrition and in Integrated Pest Management; The Agency is an agent of Campden BRI, on behalf of the Food Standards Agency and is also an agent of the SEAFISH Industry Authority of Great Britain. The Food Safety Agency otherwise specialises in the development and the verification (i.e. audit & inspection) of HACCP based FSMS's*, in the high-risk manufacturing and processing sectors (external to Argyll). The Agency is highly conversant with the WHO-Codex/ISO22000/BRC, SALSA and IFST GMP6 based FSMS's* - Together with EU Food Law. Vacuum packaged, MAP, pasteurisation/UHT/sterilisation & other technologies for the extension of shelf life. 2. Shellfish production and purification (depuration) 3. Specialist (unpastuerised) cheese 4. Cook-chill systems 6. Meat products and game processing.
