Last year of night tours.
Another attempt to get us open but failed yet again. Maybe looks lovely but all we can say is sorry and roll on Spring so we can welcome visitors safely again.
From all of us to all of you. Happy New Year when it comes !!
With the school holidays fast approaching we thought it time to remind folk what we do best !! Thanks to Camryn Forman Media for creating our promo video. If you are one of our many repeat visitors thank you for your continued support as without such support the museum would not be able to function. If you've not been before then a warm welcome awaits so we hope to see old and new friends in the coming months. #Holidays #uniquefinds #history #visitorattraction #multiawardwinning #WarmWelcome

So we have teased enough. It's time to thank the following companies for making our Christmas Experience possible by sponsoring the installation by The Christmas Decorators Aberdeen which will delight those that love special selfie moments or love creating a memories box with the family. Our Christmas lights display themed to the Polar Express is not to be missed and because of the following companies means the entry cost can be kept low, so thank you to the following for their support and we hope the community will now get behind those that have been kind enough to get behind the museum. This experience will run for 5 weeks from the 25th November and of course every weekend Santa will be popping back from the North Pole to see how his elves are getting on in the workshop. Those visiting Monday - Friday will be supported by our busy elves and ensure every child will get their special gift. Aimed at children 18 months to 8 years [although all are welcome] be sure to have your camera fully charged. Tickets go on sale on the 14th of September priced at £10 per child [includes a gift] and £5 per adult and can be purchased via our website only www.peterheadprisonmuseum.com please note tickets are limited for each day and can't be purchased after the 31st of October to ensure gifts arrive on time. Should you require to eat after the experience a separate button will be available along with the menu choice for you to pre-book. Further teasers to follow but thank you first of all to 𝕭𝖚𝖈𝖍𝖆𝖓 𝕷𝖎𝖛𝖊 for creating our short promo video and to the following amazing companies for making this dream a reality: In alphabetical order we thank Aberdeen Alarm Company ltd Bright Beginnings Nursery - Peterhead Buchan Offshore Wind Budding Rose PD418 Ghost Hunters PI Laeso Fish Quantum Data Solutions Ltd Red Brick Theatre Group. SFF Services Limited and of course we received today an amazing sponsorship from an anonymous donor [but you will know who you are] I

As the museum team remain in their respective homes, we do try and stay connected via the virtual world.
Today we got a surprise virtual visit from one of our youngest members of the admissions team and we thought it was so good we wanted to share it with you.
So please sing along with Chelsea and hope you all enjoy her solo performance as much as we did.
Please remember though:
Stay at Home; Protect our NHS and Save Lives.
Convict Carriage
Step onboard our new exhibit. A former Convict carriage kindly donated back to its home of origin. It includes not only original features but a name carved into one of the wood panels from 1935 !!

Christmas Video
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at the museum and we hope to welcome guests throughout the festive period.
We are now operating winter hours 10-4 daily with last entry being 2.30.
Remember if you want that unique gift we have a range of vouchers in our gift shop along with other stocking fillers and the shop is open daily between 10-2.30.
Our Refuge Café is now also open to non - museum visitors daily between 11-2.30 although the café itself closes at 3, so no need to rush that lovely scone and coffee or why not heat up with a warm soup and range of toasties while overlooking the bay.
We are also open between Christmas and New Year, only closed the 25th-26th December and 1st and 2nd January, so if you are looking for a unique visitor attraction to walk off that festive food why not pop along to see us

Following the success of last year’s Halloween tours we are pleased to announce a new concept for 2017 is being developed and night time tours will be held between 25th – 31st October inclusive, with the “Most Haunted Experience” team being on the 28th.
Tickets for the “Most Haunted Experience” event can be purchased on line direct from their site and for our very own guided “Fright time” tour tickets they will again be available on line nearer the time as per last year, so watch this space for more information at the end of September.
• Please note the “Fright night” tours are for 18 years and over only.
In addition, we are very pleased to announce that the “Brick Mania” event will be back with us again on the 4th November, which will also include a Toy Fair and at the end of the event a fireworks display to round off this year’s events within the museum.
The success of our first “Brick Mania” event meant demand was high and with new exhibitors joining many of the existing team this is again set to be a major event and this time in one of the main halls to ensure more space is available to exhibit and for visitors to browse these wonderful builds at their leisure.
More information will be released nearer the time, but if interested in any of these events please get them into your diaries now
Some new additions to our tour will be open on the 25th February including a cell about “Gentle” Johnny Ramensky and his war time escapades, a display including the original governors seal, paperweight, minute book and more and in our hospital area a range of period equipment used by the profession many years ago.
Prison specific DVD's created in-house will be available in the museum shop from 1st March.
This is just the first phase of our 2017 developments, with more being rolled out throughout the year.
Thank you to Score Media for making this video to give a sneak peek behind our bars. To see more why not pay us a visit this weekend – We’re open 10am-4pm with last admission at 2:30pm. See you soon!
