Christmas in Port Isaac is a special experience. Where else will you find a sparkling Christmas tree created from lobster pots?!
From Friday 6th December visitors can enjoy the annual Port Isaac Illuminations decorating the narrow streets, fisherman’s cottages, shop fronts and pub. This year the theme is ‘A Thousand Stars’, with the tiny town set to become a twinkling galaxy. Houses and local businesses will be competing to have the best decked windows and doors, plus you’ll find an exhibition of star-themed windowsills in the church.

Introducing Bar Cottage 😍
Tucked away on Dolphin Street in the historic heart of the village, this two-bed, two bath cottage sleeps four just footsteps from the harbour.

Bar Cottage is a slice of Cornish cottage-core: think traditional slate floors, an Aga in the kitchen and woodburner in the lounge, beamed ceilings and a wooden staircase, but with practical modern amenities like underfloor heating, WiFi and a parking spot a short stroll away.

Head to our website to browse and book, or call us in the office if you’d prefer on 01208 223128 ☎

Every year as daylight begins to dwindle and the longer nights creep in, the starlings return to Bodmin Moor. With the approach of sunset, flocks consisting of hundreds to thousands of these speckled birds descend upon the conifers to roost, but not before putting on a dazzling display for anyone lucky enough to be watching.

Learn all about the starling murmurations and where to watch them over on our latest journal article, Murmurations On The Moors.

Taking a moment to reflect this Armistice Day, following another poignant Remembrance Service with Port Isaac RNLI on The Platt yesterday.
This year the Platt and village were decorated with over 600 hand-knitted poppies created by volunteers from the Hands on Hooks crochet community, including this stunning cascade opposite the Lifeboat Station - what a beautiful tribute.

Hi View has an open fireplace for those stormy days, and is pet friendly if you're bringing your four-legged friend away for some bracing walks! It is currently available for short weekend and mid-week breaks, or book a full week at a discounted rate.

Looking out the end of Middle Street onto The Platt and the Harbour beyond: a view that hasn't changed much at all in the last couple of hundred years, save for the modern outboard engine and plastic fenders on the fishing boat's tenders.
