Carlyon Beach is privately-owned with year-round public access and an exciting vision for the future, including new homes, independent shops and restaurants, and a whole range of leisure facilities for the local community and visitors to enjoy. To the west lies Crinnis Beach with a distinct outcrop of rock, affectionately known as Crinnis Island, sloping gently seawards. The central beach at Short

horn is set against a backdrop of sandy dune, while neighbouring Polgaver Beach, a rich and verdant nature reserve, completes the unbroken stretch of coastline. Open year round for your enjoyment, shake out a blanket on Carlyon Bay, dip your toes in the calm waters or whip up the adrenaline aboard a paddleboard or a jet ski safari (seasonal). Friday 9th August is Carlyon Marine Day as part of National Marine Week with 🌊

There will be a host of FREE marine activities for all the family and a chance to learn more about our amazing seas. 🐟

12:30pm - 1:30pm: Silent Disco Beach Clean

1pm - 2:30pm: Sand Sculpture Competition

3pm - 4pm: Snorkel Safari (booking required)

All activities are FREE to take part in, however you can make an optional donation when booking onto the snorkel*.

**Participants over 9 years of age only, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times including in the water.

Don’t forget that this evening a beacon will be lit on the beach as part of a national commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in 1944.
