Hi All,
Some of you may be aware of our program to rewild and create accessible nature areas at Lambscombe. We have already cleared several acres of waste ground to establish a wild flower meadow and mini beast heaven.
Work has commenced on removing dead trees and creating a circular nature walk in the valley. With peaceful spots to simply relax and take a deep breath , something we all get too little time to do these days🙁
The plan is to eventually reinstate the pond and wetland area for the benefit of nature and enjoyment of our guests.
Now the old saying is Rome wasn’t built in a day but the realisation has dawned on me that Rome wouldn’t be built in a decade on my own.😆
We would therefore like to offer initially two weeks in Beechcroft Cottage in return for work hours TBA in June and July. Ideally 2-3 people studying currently in similar fields looking for practical experience.
Willingness to work hard and be able to bring ideas to the scheme are key, must also be physically fit.

a trip to Dunkery Beacon to blow the cobwebs away and after a morning of rain the sun even poked its head out😃
Around 6,000 steps and 22 floors for those interested, can be made longer to around 10,000 steps and still back to the same car park.
A nice drive and away from the busier routes with some stunning scenery on the way (definitely the route if you want to get up close to Exmoor ponies)
Stop off in Exford for a drink and a bite to eat or Withypool maybe even both why not your on holiday.
Well we have had a few Swallows over the last couple of weeks to keep us entertained and the bugs down. Well I returned from working in kent today to see the House Martins have arrived in huge numbers.
This is just one part of the main house, there are literally hundreds of them. No mozzie repellent required for the next few weeks😀.
